Role: Research Assistant [RA] - Business Policy and Strategyarea
Position Type:
IIM Udaipur [IIMU] is looking for an RA toassist with research in the Business Policy and Strategy area.

The current RA got admission to PhD program at IIM Calcutta in the Strategy area.
Previous RAs at IIMU have received offers from world-class PhD programs, including London School of Economics,University of Pittsburgh, University of Maryland, University of Texas at Austin, Ivey Business School at WesternUniversity (Canada), Penn State University, University of Georgia, Texas A&M University, University of Houston,and University of Memphis, among others.

You will work with two Professors inthe Business Policy and Strategy area. The skills that you develop will help you apply to top-ranked doctoralprograms in Strategic Management and related areas. You should be self-motivated, and eager to take ownershipand lead research projects.
Responsibilities:This is a research position in an academic setting. You will assist with:
- Data collection, database creation, and data analysis (primarily quantitative, but potentially qualitative –faculty will help you to train on necessary methods)
- Writing research proposals and conducting research
- Literature search, summary, presentation, and writing
- Other research-related work
A Bachelor’s degree in a discipline such as Engineering, Economics, Statistics, or Mathematics, from any of thetop-tier colleges in the country, is preferred. Highly-motivated candidates with an undergraduate degree fromanother discipline, and good analytical skills, may also apply.
Candidates must have the following:- An open mind to learning new concepts, and thinking creatively
- High standards, in terms of quality of work, attention to detail, ability to multitask, and absolutecommitment to task completion
- Strong command over MS Office
- Primary data collection skills – interviews and surveys
- Experience with analytical tools such as R/STATA/SPSS or other analytical tools
- Data handling and analysis skills (e.g., SQL querying, R, STATA)
- Exposure to tools like NVivo, QDA Miner, Qualtrics, Atlas.ti, etc.
- Past research experience
The position is contractual for 12 months and will be renewed for 12 months pending strong performance, enablingthe candidate to build up a profile for PhD applications. Candidates are expected to move on to a PhD program atthe end of two years.
