Director, Solution Engineering

The Director of Solution Engineering will lead a dynamic team of solution engineers and work closely with our sales team to engage with current and prospective eCommerce, Data, Supply Chain, and Digital clients globally. This role will span across various platforms, technologies, industries, and architectural patterns, ensuring the highest standards of technical excellence and customer satisfaction. You will drive strategic initiatives, oversee complex solution engineering activities, and contribute to our business growth through your leadership and expertise.Roles & Responsibilities:Lead and manage the Solution Engineering team, providing guidance, support, and professional development to ensure team success and growth.Develop and execute strategic plans to position Pivotree’s solutions effectively in the market, aligning with customer needs and business objectives.Collaborate with sales leadership to drive the sales process, from initial engagement to successful implementation, ensuring seamless transitions.Act as a trusted advisor to clients, identifying their needs, engineering adaptations of solutions, and delivering impactful demonstrations and Proof of Value exercises.Provide thought leadership by participating in relevant technical and industry bodies and events, and by staying abreast of emerging trends and opportunities.Foster strong relationships with customer stakeholders, consulting on digital solutions and enterprise programs to drive value and build trust.Partner with sales to plan, prepare, and execute strategies that encourage prospective enterprise clients to invest in our innovative digital solutions and services.Oversee the development of customized solutions that meet client requirements and support them optimally.Ensure the team covers all aspects of technical requirements that Sales Specialists may not cover, enhancing team efficiency and opportunity traction.Act as the subject matter expert (SME) during the sales process, bridging the gap between application, technology, design, and final solutions.Scope, solution, and facilitate the estimation of work to produce accurate quotes and proposals for customers.Oversee the creation and delivery of compelling presentations and demonstrations that clearly explain our proposed solutions.Lead and participate in Proof of Value (PoV) exercises, showcasing the value of our offerings.Evangelize the unique value proposition of Pivotree’s solutions to both internal teams and external clients.Manage the technical aspects of SOW contracts and RFP/RFI responses, ensuring accuracy and alignment with customer needs.Support the smooth transition of customers from pre-sales to post-sales implementation, ensuring continuity and customer satisfaction.Work with Account Executives to cross-sell solutions and products into our existing customer base.Document standards and update Pivotree’s knowledge base with collateral to accelerate customers through the sales cycle.Relay customer feedback and industry trends to the product team and partners, ensuring our offerings remain competitive and relevant.Build and maintain relationships with partners, understanding and being able to demo their solutions effectively.Lead by example, promoting Pivotree’s strategy, including assessments, migration frameworks, IT/Digital Transformation, and Technical Onboarding activities.Foster a culture of connecting technology to business outcomes through a pre-sales lens.Key Skills and Competencies:10+ years of experience in enterprise software or consulting services, with a proven track record of working with IT and business teams in Global 1000 organizations.Demonstrated leadership experience, including managing and developing high-performing teams.Expertise in enterprise software and services pre-sales, with a focus on selling into global-1000 organizations.Knowledge of various eCommerce platforms such as SAP Commerce, VTEX, Shopify Plus, Oracle Commerce, Spryker, Salesforce Commerce, Commercetools, Adobe Magento.Knowledge of MDM Solutions like Stibo, Precisely, Informatica, and Supply Chain Solutions like Fluent, Sterling, or Manhattan.Understanding of public cloud solutions, including Amazon AWS, MS Azure, Google Cloud, and datacenter technologies.Ability to present complex concepts in an easily understandable manner, with superior communication skills.Proven performance-driven attitude with a bias for action and results, relishing challenges and tirelessly pursuing objectives.Excellent oral and written communication skills, with fluency in English.Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field).Willingness to travel (~20%).Join us as a Senior Director of Solution Engineering to lead our technical strategy and drive the success of our solutions in the marketplace.
