JOB DESCRIPTION Insight Global is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join a top aerospace company in Ottawa, ON. The Senior Electrical Engineer plays a pivotal role in designing and developing advanced avionics hardware for next-generation aircraft. This individual will lead circuit design, PCB layout, and system integration efforts, collaborating closely with software and systems teams to ensure seamless performance. Cross-functional collaboration and continuous improvement are key, with regular engagement across manufacturing, certification, and customer-facing teams to drive innovation and ensure compliance with aerospace standards. This role is 5x week onsite in Ottawa, ON. Key Responsibilities - Lead the design and development of avionics hardware, including schematic capture, PCB layout, and testing. - Architect analog and digital circuits for embedded systems and communication interfaces. - Collaborate with software and firmware teams for system integration and validation. - Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior engineers. - Support certification processes and documentation aligned with aerospace standards (e.g., DO-254, DO-160). - Investigate and resolve complex field issues and product failures. REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE - Minimum of 8 years of electrical engineering experience - Strong experience with EDA tools such as Altium, DxDesigner, OrCAD - Professional experience with lap equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum/network analyzers, signal generators NICE TO HAVE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE - Aerospace/avionics experience - Knowledge of IPC standards, knowledge of DO-160 standards - Basic scripting in C, Java, Python - Past team lead/mentorship experience - Experience with DFM (Design for Manufacturability) and DFT (Design for Test)- Experience with RF system design or embedded system integration
