We have an excellent 1 year contract opportunity with possible extension for a Senior Business Architect in Ottawa/Toronto.

Contractor may have to come on site in Ottawa/Toronto, on ad hoc basis.

Must haves:

  • Eligible for Reliability level Federal Security clearance is mandatory.
  • 5+ years of experience in effectively interacting and communicating with business teams; can consolidate business requirements and translate them into IT deliverables.
  • 5+ years of experience in capability mapping to ensure tactical and strategic business goals are addressed.
  • Experience working in SAP Project (i.e. S4/Hana implementation)
  • Knowledge in multiple Canada Post systems that are integrated with Order to Cash

What role you will play?

Reporting to the Order to Cash Solution Lead under the Experience Transformation Program, the Business Architect develops a view of business capabilities (organization, processes, products, services, tools, technologies) required to deliver against the business requirements. The Business Architect has a deep knowledge of their domain and acts as a bridge between business needs and IT solutions. The Business Architect understands the needs of multiple stakeholders and facilitates the negotiation of requirements amongst multiple stakeholders. This individual understands the customer, business and technology space and is able to capture and communicate the end-to-end workflows, interactions and end user experience.

What will you be responsible for?

  • Functional integrations between SAP S/4 HANA and Satellite Systems in the Order to Cash domain
  • Ability to document / visualize the integrated data flow between systems
  • Support Solution Lead and Satellite PM with coordination of satellite work packages and continuous tracking of satellite work
  • Ensuring end to end solutions are delivered on time and on budget

What skills you need for this role to be yours?

  • Client Management : 5+ years of experience in effectively interacting and communicating with business teams; can consolidate business requirements and translate them into IT deliverables
  • Business architecture ; 5+ years of experience in capability mapping to ensure tactical and strategic business goals are addressed
  • Business analysis: familiar with business engineering system concepts and principles as well as complex modeling techniques, able to align business unit sub-processes to enterprise business processes and able to lead functional requirement walk through and quality reviews
  • Value management : can identify the effectiveness and completeness of business and technology strategies and ensure alignment with IT and other applicable cross-organization strategies
  • Experience in contributing to the success of a range of small-to-medium (under 700k) initiatives (or related functional areas) with escalating levels of complexity and business criticality.

  • Experience working in SAP Project (i.e. S4/Hana implementation)
  • Excellent understanding of business context and mode of operations
  • Proven ability to identify, formalize, and problem solve business needs
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills in areas such as teamwork, facilitation and negotiation
  • Mature perspective on architecture principles and frameworks
  • Understands principles of iterative development, and able to document business requirements as Agile user stories
  • Knowledge in multiple Canada Post systems that are integrated with Order to Cash

Education

  • Academic: University degree in business or information systems or equivalent experience or combination thereof (required), Graduate degree in Business Administration (MBA)(Asset)
  • Certifications: Certified business analysis professional (CBAP) (Asset), BABOK (Asset), ITIL foundations (Asset), TOGAF certification (Asset)
