SmileMakers Orthodontists is excited to add a Dental Receptionist to join our well-established orthodontic practice on a contract basis in Thunder Bay, Ontario.

Our team is the secret to our success and as a Dental Receptionist, you will play an important role in ensuring our patients have a positive experience in our clinics.

What you will be doing – key responsibilities:

  • Welcome patients as main point of contact when they arrive at the practice
  • Respond promptly to incoming calls in a professional and enthusiastic manner
  • Answering phone calls and emails
  • Manage patient communication services such as office email , text, and website communication
  • Manage incoming and outgoing mail and report
  • Provide administrative support to the orthodontic staff
  • Scheduling and rescheduling patient appointments, managing patient accounts, inputting new patients into the computer system
  • Some Treatment Coordinating as needed.
  • Other administrative support as required

  • You are an outgoing, confident, individual, with a passion for patient care.
  • Goal-driven, with an amazing work ethic, you are focused on helping the practice grow
  • A natural ability to develop relationships with patients, parents, and your team.
  • You have a positive attitude with a strong desire to provide an excellent customer experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; written and verbal, and ability to make patients feel comfortable and at ease.
  • You are observant and a good listener.

What you bring – qualifications:

  • Previous experience in an Administrative Assistant role.
  • Previous dental or medical reception experience (preferred)
  • Microsoft office proficiency
  • Ability to be respectful of others and act with discretion at all times
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent social and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks
  • Self-motivated and reliable
