TSS Building Science Inc is currently seeking an experienced Building Envelope Specialist to join our Building Sciences Team in our Vaughan, ON office. In this position you will apply your technical knowledge to evaluate existing buildings and design solutions for the complex and unique problems of our clients. Projects will include a mix of multi-unit residential, commercial, and institutional projects, with an emphasis on repair and enhancements to existing facilities. You must be able to balance several projects simultaneously and be detail orientated.We offer competitive compensation, incentives, and development opportunities for our staff and are committed their success.Key ResponsibilitiesInteract with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders;Conduct site assessments, investigations, and prepare reports & recommendations;Prepare design specification and construction contract documents;Conduct site visits and perform construction reviews as required;Accept responsibility for project tasks, deliverables, and outcomes;Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians;Assist in proposal preparation.QualificationsBachelor’s degree or Applied Science Technology Diploma in Building Science Engineering, Civil/Structural Engineering or a related discipline;P.Eng. license is an asset but not a requirement;8-10 years of engineering or consulting experience in building envelope design and construction;In-depth knowledge of construction systems and assemblies (roofing, wall assemblies, windows, waterproofing, parking structures, etc)Experience with construction contract administrationWorking knowledge of applicable codes and standardsExcellent verbal and written skillsProficient in AutoCAD, REVIT, Outlook, Word, and ExcelAbility to work independentlyValid drivers license in good standing.If you are searching for a career path that will demonstrate your skills and maximize your potential for development, we would like to hear from you.
