Vaughan, Canada TSS Building Science Full time

TSS Building Science Inc is currently seeking an experienced Building Envelope Specialist to join our Building Sciences Team in our Vaughan, ON office. In this position you will apply your technical knowledge to evaluate existing buildings and design solutions for the complex and unique problems of our clients. Projects will include a mix of multi-unit residential, commercial, and institutional projects, with an emphasis on repair and enhancements to existing facilities. You must be able to balance several projects simultaneously and be detail orientated.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interact with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders;
  • Conduct site assessments, investigations, and prepare reports & recommendations;
  • Prepare design specification and construction contract documents;
  • Conduct site visits and perform construction reviews as required;
  • Accept responsibility for project tasks, deliverables, and outcomes;
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians;
  • Assist in proposal preparation.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or Applied Science Technology Diploma in Building Science Engineering, Civil/Structural Engineering or a related discipline;
  • P.Eng. license is an asset but not a requirement;
  • 8-10 years of engineering or consulting experience in building envelope design and construction;
  • In-depth knowledge of construction systems and assemblies (roofing, wall assemblies, windows, waterproofing, parking structures, etc)
  • Experience with construction contract administration
  • Working knowledge of applicable codes and standards
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, REVIT, Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Ability to work independently
  • Valid drivers license in good standing.
