MTE Logistix was established in 1920 with little more than a warehouse, a couple of trucks and a mission to provide the best service in the industry.
Established in 1920 as Motor Truck Express, the business was essentially a warehouse, a couple of trucks and a mission to provide the best service in the industry. Today MTE Logistix is one of Western Canada’s largest third-party logistics providers. 5 million square feet of warehouse space across multiple facilities in Edmonton and Calgary, Alberta and employs upwards of 300 people.
Inclusive with this vision is the objective to bring on and build upon our executive team to help guide and shape this transformation.
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Vice President Business Development (VP BD) will be responsible for revenue generation and marketing teams and outcomes at MTE Logistix. Serving as a “face” of MTE Logistix, the VP BD will create new business opportunities, maintain and build on revenue streams with existing customers, develop new customers, pursue strategic partnerships, and develop plans to elevate the MTE Logistix’s brand toward increasing market share. Evaluates existing partnerships and sales efforts with an eye toward building on what works and changing what doesn’t.
Manages key client relationships and works to build new ones.
Expands the profile and reach of the company and its brands.
Helps to shape the company’s long-term sales objectives and establish the plans to achieve them.
Conducts webinars and presentations to raise the brand profile.
Selects prospective vendors and negotiates contracts.
Helps direct development of customer-facing web platforms and digital experiences.
Master’s degree with specialization in Finance, Business Development, Marketing or equivalent combination of education and senior management and leadership experience is preferred.
Experience in transportation, freighting, distribution, warehousing, or freight forwarding would be an asset.
Relationship management.

Planning and organizing.
Strategic planning.
