We are looking for an experienced Senior HS&E Specialist to join our team. This position can be fully remote or hybrid .
Reporting to the Health, Safety, and Environmental (HS&E) Director, the bilingual Senior Health, Safety and Environmental (HS&E) Specialist is r esponsible for providing HS&E leadership and technical support to Canadian operations in Québec and Ontario. HS&E Specialist builds and maintains trust and confidence with the Canadian Operations Team and inspires change through comprehensive risk assessments, data analysis, and coaching. Also supports local staff and management to achieve environmental, health, and safety compliance requirements. Ensures the facilities are in compliance with applicable HS&E regulatory areas from Quebec, Ontario, and other regulatory agencies;
Identify, develop, and implement procedures and programs in compliance with local, provincial and federal rules and regulations;
Prepares and submits internal and external HS&E regulatory and non-regulatory reports;
Manages the disposal of regulated waste across the assigned Canadian Operations;
Assists or conducts industrial hygiene sampling and regulatory sampling as required;
Handles worker’ compensation claims in Quebec and Ontario providences. Coordinates with employees, medical professionals, and CNESST or WSIB representatives to facilitate the claims process effectively. Advocates for the organization's interests during claim investigations and hearings, while also promoting a proactive approach to workplace safety to prevent future incidents.
Collaborates with relevant stakeholders to implement return-to-work programs for injured employees and monitors claim progress to ensure appropriate resolutions and timely return of employees to their roles
Assists in the development and implementation of annual HS&E objectives and goals;
Conducts risk assessments, workplace inspections, and safety audits to identify potential hazards and assess compliance with safety standards. Manages the HS&E training program by identifying, monitoring, sourcing, and coordinating all HS&E training for company personnel while providing oversight to ensure its effectiveness and compliance;
Provides safety and environmental oversight during plant maintenance activities and projects;
Facilitates safety and environmental discussions and planning with plant personnel to ensure safe project execution, safety measures implementation, and best practices;
Stays current with relevant health and safety laws, regulations, and standards at the local, provincial, and federal levels. Ensures the company's operations and practices align with these requirements, and coordinates efforts to comply with HS&E regulations;
Benchmarks the organization's H&S performance against industry standards to drive continuous improvement;
Manages all applicable regulatory documentation in accordance with good practices and regulatory agency requirements;
Assists with the implementation and compliance of HS&E issues of other divisions;
Complies with all Corporate policies and procedures;
Bachelor's degree in environmental health and safety, engineering, or related discipline is required;
~ 10+ years of experience in the environmental, health, and safety field is required;
~ Must be bilingual – English and French; Advanced education and training preferred, including OHSA/AOHS, MOL, MOE, MOT/MTQ, WSIB/CNESST and Emergency Response Preparedness;
~ Working relationship with regulatory agencies such as MOL, MOE and WSIB/CNESST is preferred;
~ Valid driver’s license is required; Must be proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)

Nous sommes à la recherche d’un (e) spécialiste sénior et de l’évaluation expérimenté(e) pour se joindre à notre équipe. Relevant du directeur de la santé, de la sécurité et de l’environnement (SS&E), le spécialiste principal bilingue de la santé, de la sécurité et de l’environnement (SS&E) est responsable d’assurer le leadership et le soutien technique en matière de santé et d’environnement aux opérations canadiennes au Québec et en Ontario. Le spécialiste principal en SS et E établit et maintient la confiance avec l’équipe des opérations canadiennes et inspire le changement par le biais d’évaluations complètes des risques, d’analyses de données et d’encadrement. Aide également le personnel et la direction locaux à respecter les exigences de conformité en matière d’environnement, de santé et de sécurité. Travailler sous la direction du directeur de la santé et de l’évaluation et avec d’autres membres du personnel du ministère afin d’élaborer et de mettre en œuvre des initiatives de santé et d’évaluation pour les activités canadiennes.
S’assurer que les installations sont conformes aux domaines de réglementation applicables en matière de santé et d’éthique du Québec, de l’Ontario et d’autres organismes de réglementation ;
· Identifier, élaborer et mettre en œuvre des procédures et des programmes conformes aux règles et règlements locaux, provinciaux et fédéraux ;
· Fournir des conseils et une surveillance pour garantir le respect des exigensces SS&E;
· Aider ou effectuer des prélèvements d’échantillons d’hygiène industrielle et des prélèvements réglementaires, selon les besoins ;
· Aider à signaler les incidents liés à la santé et à l’environment et diriger et/ou encadrer pendant les enquêtes ;
· o Assurer la coordination avec les employés, les professionnels de la santé et les représentants de la CNESST ou de la CSPAAT afin de faciliter efficacement le processus de réclamation. Contribuer à l’élaboration et à la mise en œuvre des objectifs annuels en matière de santé et d’évaluation ;
· Gérer le programme de formation en santé et en sécurité et en éthique en identifiant, en surveillant, en recrutant et en coordonnant toutes les formations en santé et en éthique pour le personnel de l’entreprise, tout en assurant la supervision de son efficacité et de sa conformité.
· Assurer le suivi, l’analyse et la communication des mesures de santé et d’évaluation aux gestionnaires de service afin d’identifier les tendances et les possibilités d’amélioration ;
· Assurer la surveillance de la sécurité et de l’environnement pendant les activités et les projets d’entretien;
· Faciliter les discussions et la planification en matière de sécurité et d’environnement avec le personnel de l’usine afin d’assurer l’exécution sécuritaire du projet, la mise en œuvre des mesures de sécurité et les meilleures pratiques.
· Collaborer avec les chefs de service et les superviseurs pour créer des pratiques, des environnements et des comportements de travail sécuritaires ;
· S’efforce d’améliorer et d’améliorer continuellement les pratiques et les procédures en matière de santé et d’environment ;
· Se tenir au courant des lois, des règlements et des normes de santé et de sécurité pertinents aux niveaux local, provincial et fédéral. S’assurer que les activités et les pratiques de l’entreprise sont conformes à ces exigences et coordonner les efforts pour se conformer à la réglementation en matière de santé et d’évaluation ;
· Se tenir au courant des meilleures pratiques de l’industrie, des tendances émergentes et des avancées technologiques liées à la santé et à la sécurité. Évaluer le rendement de l’organisation en matière de santé et de sécurité par rapport aux normes de l’industrie afin de favoriser l’amélioration continue ;
· Maintenir et établir des relations proactives avec tous les fournisseurs et entrepreneurs en matière de santé et d’évaluation
· Aider à la mise en œuvre et à la conformité des questions de santé et d’évaluation d’autres divisions ;
· Un baccalauréat en santé et sécurité environnementales, en génie ou dans une discipline connexe est exigé.
~ 10+ années d’expérience dans le domaine de l’environnement, de la santé et de la sécurité sont requises ;
~ Doit être bilingue – anglais et français ; Capacité à naviguer, à comprendre et à interpréter les règlements liés à la santé et à l’évaluation et à communiquer efficacement les exigences au personnel de l’entreprise ;
~ Des études et une formation supérieure sont préférables, y compris la LSST/SSA, le ministère de l’Éducation, le ministère de l’Environnement, le ministère de l’Environnement/MTQ, la CSPAAT/CNESST et la préparation aux interventions d’urgence ;
~ Il est préférable d’avoir des relations de travail avec des organismes de réglementation tels que le ministère du Travail, le ministère de l’Environnement et la CSPAAT/CNESST.
~ Une capacité avérée à travailler de manière indépendante à la mise en œuvre et à l’élaboration d’objectifs et de stratégies en matière de santé et d’évaluation est exigée.
~ Doit avoir la capacité/la volonté de se déplacer au besoin avec peu de préavis à la fois dans la zone de service des opérations canadiennes et à d’autres endroits à l’extérieur de la région, y compris les États-Unis ;
~ Doit maîtriser MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint et Outlook)
