Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Within a team environment, the Project Based – Compensation Specialist supports administration, development, implementation, maintenance, and improvement for all compensation projects:

Compensation Administration Support 100%

  • Support project completion of compensation projects, including but not limited to job architecture and compensation policy redesign.
  • Develop and implement compensation strategies and structures that align with the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Conduct job evaluations and classifications to ensure internal equity and market competitiveness.
  • Collaborate with HR partners and departmental leaders to gather job information and analyze job descriptions to accurately define roles within the organization.
  • Participate in salary surveys and analyze compensation data to determine the organization's market position.
  • Review and revise existing compensation programs to ensure they meet current and future business needs.
  • Provide advice on pay decisions, policy interpretations, and job evaluations.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local compensation laws and regulations.
  • Assist with the design and administration of incentive or bonus programs to support organizational objectives.
  • Work closely with HRIS and IT staff to ensure that compensation systems are effectively managed and maintained.

Non-Essential Duties And Responsibilities

These duties include tasks that are required, but currently comprise of less than 5% of the daily workflow for this job:

  • Participate in departmental, agency, and professional meetings and workgroups, as assigned.
  • Complete other duties and projects as assigned.

Job Specifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree
  • Experience : 4 years of HR compensation experience with strong administration of policies and procedures.
  • Professional/Technical Certifications : n/a
  • Technical Requirements :
    • Must have intermediate knowledge of general office procedures and demonstrate excellent organizational and computer skills specifically in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of federal and state laws
  • Bilingual Required : n/a

  • Work Schedule : This position is full-time but may require working evenings or weekends on occasion. This position works on a hybrid schedule. Your office will be in our Headquarters location and will require you to come into the office a few days a week.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Education : BA/BS in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field from Four‑year College or university preferred .
  • Professional/Technical Certifications : PHR or SPHR and CEBS certificates and accreditations.
  • Experience : Experience working in compliance with I-9, employee records, AAP/ EEO, OFCCP, FLMA, CFRA, PDL, Disability, Reasonable Accommodations, ADAA, Worker’s Compensation, USERRA, and/or COVID-19 regulations

We have doubled in size over the past 10 years. We provide child development and early education, workforce development opportunities, child care financial assistance, Head Start preschool and Early Head Start services and more for close to 50,000 parents, children, and child care providers each month in Northern Los Angeles County, including Antelope Valley, and the entirety of San Bernardino County, including an office in Victorville, serving a total geographic area of 22,500 square miles.

About Us

Child Care Resource Center (CCRC) assists close to 50,000 parents, children, and child care providers each month in Northern Los Angeles County and the entirety of San Bernardino County serving a total area of 22,500 square miles. Since 1976, CCRC has been managing programs to assist with issues such as finding and selecting child care, child care financial assistance, school readiness, home visiting, and research and program evaluation. Children and families benefit from these programs, allowing parents to go to work and attend school, contribute to the economy and strengthen their families and the community. CCRC's early care & education specialists offer parents and child care professionals assistance ranging from finding child care and child development ages & stages to marketing child care businesses and CPR training and certification.

CCRC operates and oversees Head Start Birth-5 programs for a total of 3,312 children. These programs promote school readiness and family engagement to ensure a healthy development of children and their families. Children benefit from a high quality preschool education as well as medical and dental exams. Through CCRC’s literacy campaign “What a Difference a Book Makes,” we have collected 800,000 age-appropriate books. It is the agency’s belief that the cognitive benefits of literacy are immeasurable and have a large impact on the ability of an economy to generate and sustain wealth.
