The Opportunity

Lava Computer MFG Inc. (Lava), a Canadian manufacturer of electronic connectivity devices; “We link technologies together – LavaLink” is currently looking for an Inside Sales Representative to primarily maintain, develop and grow sales.

 

This is a mid level sales position for someone with a keen interest in technology. The Inside Sales Representative will have dual responsibility. They will be accountable for all customer order entry and logistics and will also have client acquisition responsibilities in support of the broader sales team. This is a 100% inside sales role with an international client base. The Inside Sales Representative will achieve monthly, quarterly and yearly goals as well as other defined sales objectives.

 

This position will be difficult, with a demanding schedule and workload. Lava seeks a person who is excited by and sees opportunity in this challenge and is prepared to hit the ground running.

Job Description/Responsibilities

General

  • Act as the first point of contact for general sales inquiries via phone, email and LinkedIn
  • Actively manage existing and new customer accounts in order to develop, maintain and close them
  • Proactively have 45 unique interactions, per day, (consistent mix of phone and Teams calls, emails and LinkedIn DM’s) with identified prospects
  • Cold call and qualify incoming leads by identifying decision makers, assessing prospect/customer needs and “business pains” and overcome objections
  • Cultivate and nurture existing customer relationships and develop key stakeholders by providing information, and guidance
  • Seek, build and maintain contact through phone calls, online meetings, emails, texts, dm’s and through general correspondence with all clients in the market area
  • A strong emphasis is placed on phone and video calls over other forms of correspondence with current and prospective customers
  • Develop and maintain a strong knowledge of all LAVA products (focus on but not limited to Lithium-IQ division)
  • Work with LAVA team to ensure the customer receives the optimal solution

Administrative

  • Manage and maintain a sales pipeline
  • Record all communication, sales and lead qualification activity into CRM system
  • Process customer sales orders by entering and transferring orders to fulfillment; communicate expected delivery date; coordinate shipping; explain issues and resolutions internally and to the customer
  • Follow-up to ensure orders are processed correctly, information is accurate, customer's needs are met, and that concerns or issues are resolved efficiently
  • Follow-up with customers post sale to ensure the customer has all questions answered and access to full technical support
  • Determine when to escalate to technical support, while maintaining internal track of the customer and issue to ensure they are supported from start to finish
  • Provide timely feedback with oral and written reports to senior management regarding information on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services
  • Provide forecasting information to support company planning

Strategic

  • Execute on strategic action plans to win new markets
  • Assist the LAVA Marketing team on campaigns, promotions, projects, and initiatives

 

Knowledge and Skills

  • Must be a positive, high-energy and a self-motivated
  • Desire to work in a small company where “wearing multiple hats” is expected
  • Track record of consistent and dynamic customer follow ups
  • Positive attitude to cold calling and prospecting to identify new business opportunities
  • Hard worker with track record and ability to grind through difficult or occasionally boring work
  • Demonstrated ability to be proactive and take the initiative to get things done (this is an extremely valued skill at Lava)
  • Knowledge of telemarketing best practices and proven qualification skills via phone is an asset
  • Developed understanding of how sales cycles work
  • Able to multi-task, problem solve, and improve processes on the fly
  • Able to learn and apply new concepts quickly e.g. sales CRM system, product knowledge
  • Has confidence and ability to interface professionally with a wide spectrum of customers

Systems and Tools

  • Experience managing leads with Client Relationship Management (CRM) system
  • Use of Monday.com CRM an asset (our current CRM)
  • Experience using LinkedIn’s Sales Navigator a strong asset
  • Experience using Apollo.io platform an asset
  • Experience managing and tracking orders with an order entry system/database
  • Excellent computer skills, with knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Comfortable communicating via video and audio conferencing

 

Education/Skills Requirements

  • 2-5 years of experience in Sales, preferably in a technology or manufacturing based industry/company
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business Management, Psychology, Sociology, or equivalent

 

Other Requirements

  • Must be fluent in both written and spoken English
  • Knowledge of or fluency in Ukrainian is an asset
  • Above average communication skills that translates well in person and on the phone
  • High levels of conscientiousness and extroversion

 

Working Conditions

Applicants will be required to work from the office; remote work is NOT an option. Domestic and international travel may occasionally be required for trade shows, major conferences and special events. The majority of customer interactions will be via phone/video call and email. Working after hours will be required on occasion to accommodate interaction with customers located in other global regions and time zones.

 

Direct staff reports

The Inside Sales Representative will not have staff directly reporting to them, but will work collaboratively with other LAVA staff to achieve sales and revenue goals. This role will also interact regularly with Marketing, Engineering and Production for consultation and verification of technical proposals/solutions.

 

Compensation and Benefits

· Annual salary between $65k to $75k with OTE $90k
