Fuel Transport est en pleine expansion et est à la recherche d'un Conseiller juridique pour son bureau situé à LaSalle . Relevant du Directeur des affaires juridiques, le candidat sélectionné cherchera à obtenir des informations juridiques, négociera des contrats, rédigera des avis et travaillera en étroite collaboration avec les différents services de l'entreprise.

Résumé du poste:

  • Fournir un soutien sur un large éventail de questions, y compris, mais sans s'y limiter, le transport, l'emploi, la vie privée, la conformité réglementaire, sous la juridiction provinciale ou fédérale, selon le cas.
  • Rédiger un ensemble diversifié de contrats commerciaux pour l'entreprise et ses sociétés apparentées et coordonner l'exécution des contrats.
  • Examiner les documents, y compris les contrats, reçus des clients ou des vendeurs et coordonner l'exécution des contrats.
  • Résumer les obligations contractuelles et les examiner avec les parties prenantes internes.
  • Fournir des conseils en matière d'interprétation des contrats pour gérer les relations existantes.
  • Travailler en étroite collaboration avec le service des réclamations dans la gestion des dossiers.
  • Aider à la rédaction des politiques, procédures et normes de l'entreprise, selon les besoins.
  • Aider à l'identification, l'évaluation et l'appréciation des questions et risques juridiques concernant les activités et initiatives commerciales de l'entreprise.
  • Créer et/ou mettre à jour les formulaires standard.
  • Participer à de nouvelles opportunités d'affaires et à des appels d'accueil suite à la réception de demandes de propositions (RFP) sur une base bihebdomadaire.
  • Assister dans les litiges en cours, menacés ou existants entre l'entreprise et des tiers
  • Gérer et suivre les permis statutaires, les licences, les cautions, etc.
  • Assister dans les dossiers d'assurance, y compris les nouvelles demandes, les annulations, les renouvellements, etc.
  • Assurer la liaison avec les conseillers externes dans la gestion des cas de litige et toute autre tâche assignée par le directeur des affaires juridiques.

Éducation et qualifications:

  • Diplôme universitaire en droit complété.
  • Membre en règle du barreau du Québec.
  • Posséder un minimum de 2 ans d'expérience à titre d'avocat.
  • Une expérience dans le domaine des assurances ou du transport sera considérée comme un atout.
  • Excellentes aptitudes à la communication orale et écrite en français et en anglais. La connaissance d'une autre langue est nécessaire pour ce poste car le candidat sera obligé d'interagir et de communiquer avec des clients, des fournisseurs et des collègues à travers l'Amérique du Nord.

Ce poste peut être adapté aux candidats ayant une formation et une expérience de travail pertinentes, mais qui ne sont pas titulaires d'un permis du Barreau du Québec.

Fuel Transport is expanding rapidly and is looking for a Legal Counsel for our office located in LaSalle . Reporting into the Director of Legal Affairs, the selected candidate will seek and research legal information, negotiate contracts, draft opinions and work closely with various departments of the company.

Job Summary:

  • Provide support on a wide range of issues including but not limited to transportation, employment, privacy, regulatory compliance, under provincial or federal jurisdiction, as applicable.
  • Draft a diverse set of commercial contracts for the company and its related companies and coordinate contract execution.
  • Review documents, including contracts, received from clients or vendors and coordinate contract execution.
  • Summarize contractual obligations and review with internal stakeholders.
  • Provide advice in contract interpretation to manage existing relationships.
  • Work closely with the claims department in the management of the files.
  • Assist in the drafting of company policies, procedures and standards as required.
  • Assist in identifying, evaluating and assessing legal issues and risks regarding the company’s business activities and initiatives.
  • Create and/or update standard forms.
  • Participate in new business opportunities and onboarding calls following receipt of request for proposals (RFP) on a bi-weekly basis.
  • Assist with pending, threatened, or existing disputes between the company and third parties.
  • Manage and monitor statutory permits, licenses, bonds, etc.
  • Assist in the insurance files including new requests, cancellations, renewals, etc.
  • Liaise with external counsels in the managements of litigation cases.
  • Any other tasks assigned by the Director of Legal Affairs.

Education & Qualifications:

  • University degree in law degree completed.
  • Member in good standing of the Quebec bar.
  • Minimum of (2) years’ experience as a lawyer.
  • Insurance and\or transport industry experience will be considered an asset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both French and English. The requirement of another language is required for this position as the candidate will be required to interact and communicate with clients, suppliers and colleagues throughout North America.

This position may be adapted to candidates with relevant education and work experience but who do not hold a license from the Barreau du Québec.
