NRCan will use the services of a third-party Human Resources Consultant to administer the assessment for this position. A pool of (fully or partially qualified) candidates may be established through this process to staff with identical or similar positions within Natural Resources Canada with various tenures, various language requirements (English Essential, French Essential, English or French Essential, or Bilingual), linguistic requirements (imperative and/or non-imperative) and profile(s) (BBB/BBB, CBC/CBC, CCC/CCC, etc.), Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in engineering – mechanical, environmental, building, civil, chemical, materials, systems or electrical, or some other engineering specialty relevant to the duties of the position.
Experience preparing technical documents such as discussion papers, strategic plans, or frameworks and communicating technical information.
• Experience analyzing data, synthesizing, developing, and qualifying findings and making recommendations.
• Experience in project management
Knowledge of commercial technology performance limitations and knowledge gaps for reducing emissions and/or decarbonization of the transportation sector in Canada.
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing.
• Ability to analyze and synthesize technical issues, interpret the results of studies, present, and make recommendations.
• Asset Occupational Certification:
• Project Management Professional certification.
Asset Education:
• Graduation with a master’s degree from a recognized post-secondary institution
Asset Education:
• Experience working on projects to ensure compliance with economic or environmental regulations.
• Experience managing contracts.
• Experience leading* project teams or working groups.
• Leading is defined as developing strategies/plans, assigning tasks, setting milestones, monitoring progress, and briefing managers
** Supervising can include students, temporary staff, or contractors and is defined as assigning work, reviewing results, providing feedback as well as monitoring and assessing performance. In such cases, qualified candidates who self-declare as members of a visible minority group, Indigenous peoples, persons with disabilities or women (in non-traditional occupations) could be considered in priority.
