Business Development Specialist (Outside Sales) – Fire Suppression

Territory: Ottawa region

MT Talent is proud to partner with a national leader in the Fire and Safety sector. They have been awarded one of Canada’s Best Places to Work and are looking to add an Outside Sales Representative to their Ottawa region.

Here's a snapshot of what you will do:

  • Initiate contact with potential clients and assess prospects by arranging sales calls and following up on leads to deliver quotes.
  • Manage all sales opportunities related to minor contract repairs, intricate deficiencies, and enhancements of sprinkler systems and equipment.
  • Search for sales opportunities on bid and tender websites.
  • Oversee assigned customer accounts to ensure comprehensive management of their fire protection service needs.
  • Generate customer quotes promptly and professionally.
  • Offer solutions that cater to the unique requirements of each customer.
  • Cultivate relationships and deepen product knowledge with all suppliers.
  • Collaborate closely with the Customer Care Team to ensure smooth handling of all opportunities for our customers.
  • Follow up on leads provided by other departments.

Here's what we are looking for:

  • At least 1 year of sales experience in the Manufacturing sector, specifically within the Fire Protection industry is required. Those without industry experience will not be considered.
  • Post-secondary education in Business or related area of study is preferred.
  • Technical proficiency in the design, installation, and maintenance of sprinkler systems.
  • Comprehensive understanding of fire codes, building regulations, and fire protection standards.
  • Solid computer skills including MS Office, CRM systems.
  • Knowledgeable in various sales methods and managing sales pipelines.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly motivated and driven.
  • Broad knowledge of Fire Alarm systems, Fire Extinguishers, Emergency Lighting, Kitchen & Special Suppression systems is a definite asset
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
