Become a Text-to-Speech Engineer at Dialpad in Vancouver, focusing on optimizing AI voice solutions in a hybrid work environment. This role is pivotal in redesigning voice interactions. As part of Dialpad's elite Speech Team, you'll manage the backend implementation and linguistic optimization of our TTS systems. Your responsibilities will include integrating TTS vendor APIs while ensuring that our voice agents sound natural and trust-inspiring. This position demands a strong understanding of phonetics and experience with advanced Python programming for speech synthesis. Key Responsibilities:
- Manage TTS backend integration and optimization
- Ensure natural audio through SSML input formatting
- Design context-specific utterances for enhanced trust
- Oversee voice persona management and parameters
- Collaborate on improving end-to-end voice quality
- Minimum 3 years in Speech Synthesis or Voice Design
- Proficient in Python and deep learning tools
- Degree in Computational Linguistics or relevant domain
- Experience with TTS APIs like Coqui and ElevenLabs
- Familiarity with speech quality assessment techniques
