Head of Human Resources

Job Description:

Our client is a mid-size banking and financial services institution that provides a full suite of retail, commercial, and corporate banking products and services. Based out of their head office downtown Toronto, they are in search of their next Human Resources leader.

Responsibilities:
  1. Oversight human capital planning, human resources allocation, HRM strategy development, and alignment
  2. Staff development and retention
  3. Guide and arrange responses to organization-wide recruitment and employment matters
  4. Maintain the Bank’s full compliance with employment laws and related legal requirements
  5. Ensure all internal policies are adhered to and promote the Bank’s culture and workplace ethics
  6. Advise on the Bank’s long-term HR planning and budgeting
  7. Oversee HR and Administration operations
  8. Work across functions at managerial level and above, optimize HR management, and work with related departments to advance administration mechanism
  9. Lead the Bank’s HR operations and comply with all policies, manuals, and procedures related to applicable labour laws and standards
  10. Comply with all policies, manual, and procedures related to compliance
Requirements:
  • Educational Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business, or relevant field. Post-graduate degree, CHRP, CHRL is highly preferred
  • Experience: 15+ years of broad human resources experience with a minimum of 5-8 years of experience in a Human Resources leadership function. Experience in Canadian banking and financial services, ideally at a schedule 1 bank
  • Skills: Proven exposure to oversight on strategic initiatives, change management, development of policies and procedures, talent acquisition
