Job Description:

Our client is a mid-size banking and financial services institution that provides a full suite of retail, commercial, and corporate banking products and services. Based out of their head office downtown Toronto, they are in search of their next Human Resources leader.

The responsibilities include:

  1. Oversight of human capital planning, human resources allocation, HRM strategy development, and alignment
  2. Staff development and retention
  3. Guiding and arranging responses to organization-wide recruitment and employment matters
  4. Maintaining the Bank’s full compliance with employment laws and related legal requirements
  5. Ensuring all internal policies are adhered to, and promoting the Bank’s culture and workplace ethics
  6. Advising on the Bank’s long-term HR planning and budgeting
  7. Overseeing HR and Administration operations
  8. Working across functions at managerial level and above to optimize HR management
  9. Leading the Bank’s HR operations and complying with all policies, manuals, and procedures related to applicable labour laws and standards
  10. Compliance with all policies, manuals, and procedures related to regulatory requirements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business, or a relevant field
  • Post-graduate degree, CHRP, CHRL is highly preferred
  • 15+ years of broad human resources experience with a minimum of 5-8 years in a Human Resources leadership function
  • Experience in Canadian banking and financial services, ideally at a schedule 1 bank
  • Proven exposure to oversight on strategic initiatives, change management, development of policies and procedures, talent acquisition
