This is a full-time on-site role for a Bakery Maintenance Worker located in Calgary, Alberta. The Bakery Maintenance Worker will be responsible for performing day-to-day maintenance tasks related to equipment in the bakery and general building maintenance. These tasks include equipment maintenance, use of power tools, carpentry, plumbing, and preventive maintenance.
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor and taking direction from the Production Manager / Supervisors for emergency repairs and when the Maintenance Supervisor is absent. The Maintenance Worker is responsible for following through on assigned maintenance tasks to ensure that the facility and production equipment at Calgary Italian Bakery is continuously operating and being properly maintained through the ongoing practices of the following programs: Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP), British Retail Consortium (BRC), Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP), Preventive Maintenance, and Occupational Health and Safety.

Shift Schedule:
Must be able to work Shifts as the Maintenance Team rotates shifts.
Weekend work as required – particularly surrounding special projects.
* Overtime is required from time to time – sometimes without notice in Emergency situations.

Responsible for preventive maintenance, troubleshoot and repair of production equipment, including air compressors, boilers, and some metal fabrication required.
· Responds to maintenance calls with sense of urgency and ownership.
· Provide timely and high quality service following Food Safety, OH&S policies and procedures, SSOP, etc. recognizing that service is being provided to the internal customer (Production, Sales, Shipping/Receiving, and other areas of the company).
· Ensure that all maintenance schedules and preventative maintenance reports are maintained and followed.
· Ensure all food grade oils, lubricants and chemicals used for the maintenance and upkeep of equipment is compliant with HACCP and Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) guidelines.
· Conduct parts and tools reconciliations after every repair and on every shift to ensure no parts or tools have been left behind on the production line.
· Inform the Maintenance Supervisor when inventory becomes low.
· HACCP, SSOP, GMP, BRC, OH&S) when providing daily production/maintenance service.
· Report any maintenance issues or concerns on a daily basis to the Maintenance Supervisor and Production Supervisors.
· Be prepared to help other co-workers in the event of an emergency.
· Report any food safety or mechanical problems (e.g., leaking oil, worn belts, peeling paint) etc.
· Get along with other co-workers through co-operation and taking initiative to help others without being asked.
· Maintain a safe workplace and follow all required Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures including the use of lockouts, WHMIS procedures, the MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets) for all chemicals used in the facility, and the wearing of appropriate personal protective equipment, (PPE) and other safety equipment.
· Experience in equipment maintenance, including troubleshooting and repair.
· Proficiency in using power tools for maintenance tasks.
· Knowledge of carpentry for minor repairs and modifications.
· Basic understanding of plumbing systems for maintenance and repairs.
· Experience in preventive maintenance to ensure equipment reliability.
· Experience in the bakery industry is a plus.
· Mechanical aptitude/background would be desirable.
· Safety training/education including First Aid, Confined Spaces and Working Alone.
· Basic level computer skills including Word, Excel, and Outlook; Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) would be considered an asset.
