Requisition Title: SIA – CHM242H5S Introductory Organic Chemistry I (Tutorial Leader & Marker) Position Type: Tutorial Leader & Marker Course Title: CHM242H5S Introductory Organic Chemistry I Course Description: Fundamentals of organic chemistry emphasizing reactions of alkanes and alkenes. The first half of a two-course sequence (with CHM243H5) required in the Chemistry major and specialist programs. Number of Positions (est): 3 positions. * Positions are dependent on actual course enrolment, and are not guaranteed. Course Enrolment (est): 225 students Hours of work (est): 30 hours Class schedule: In-person delivery Sessional dates of appointment: January 2026 – April 2026 Salary: CUPE3902 Unit 3 Salaries. The rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail. Qualifications: M.Sc. in Chemistry and/or Biochemistry. Sound knowledge in contents covered in the course required. Previous TA/SIA experience marking assignments, quizzes, tests and/or final exam and working with undergraduate students in Chemistry tutorial setting an asset to be able to demonstrate and deliver course content consistently within the UofT's standards. Good communication skills are required as well. Description of Duties: Duties will include leading tutorials, marking quizzes/assignments, and/or midterms/final examination. May also include invigilation of term tests and/or final exam. Closing date: November 24, 2025, 11:59pm.
