About The Role

We’re searching for a SHEQ Advisor who will play a key role in forging strong working relationships with Management and Supervisory teams to ensure a comprehensive understanding of compliance and safety requirements. Whilst the role is remote, you will need to travel to engage with the field-based teams. Responsible within the region for embedding our ‘Zero Harm’ culture, implementing a robust auditing / compliance strategy and the adoption of the wider Group SHEQ strategy.

Must be open to travelling. Car included.

Reporting into the SHEQ Manager.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Responsible for reviewing and summarising various documents including:
    • Client’s technical specification
    • Technical standards and
    • Legislative documentation
  • Support Projects + Supply Chain team in delivering installer onboarding and training
  • Support Projects + Supply Chain team weekly meetings with installers re: quality & H+S updates/progress/remediation mgt
  • Design & oversee a site inspection & evidence review regime to ensure all works meet the required standards and are delivered safely.
  • Lead Agility’s response + remediation plans for escalated technical issues (customer or client)
  • Key internal stakeholders from within the business will be members of the Supply Chain team: Head of Contract Management, QA function and Project team.
  • Promote continuous improvement initiatives to maintain the highest levels of safe working practices, raise safety awareness and ensure the highest quality of all delivered products.
  • Promote a positive incident reporting culture within contracts, support teams to ensure all incidents are properly investigated and root causes established; ensuring recommendations are communicated and implemented.
  • Complete Onsite inspections across the business, construction sites and across supply chain as appropriate.

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • NEBOSH Certificate
  • CDM knowledge and experience
  • Strong grasp of recognised best practice, risk management techniques and management principles, supported by a thorough appreciation of health and safety within a regulated industry sector.
  • Full Clean UK Driving Licence (essential)
  • Flexibility to travel to sites
  • Strong communication skills and the possession of well-developed skills in stakeholder engagement.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently as this role will largely be working out in the field.
  • Proven, demonstrable experience in a similar Health and Safety/Health Safety & Environmental role, advantageous if gained in a similar industry such as Telecommunications; Utilities or Construction.
