Manager, Software Development, the D365 Solution Architect (SA) acts as a functional and technical expert of Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) Customer Engagement (CE). The SA will lead the design of the D365-based solutions at the Canadian Red Cross (CRC), in addition to delivering products and services as a senior resource. Using a mix of consultative skills, business knowledge, and technical expertise, the Solution Architect effectively integrates technology into the business environment and delivers desired business outcomes.
Manager, VP Development, Transformation Office (TRO), internal clients, the IS team and other stakeholders, the SA provides the D365 functional, technical and solution architecture expertise to develop multi-technology solutions aligned with the industry-accepted and internal best practices. The SA also oversees the development and implementation of the application integration architecture.
Defines and documents the overall application architecture and design decisions during a project to meet client requirements, ensuring solutions align with business goals and processes, and fit within the enterprise context.
Provide a senior development resource to the team, delivering enterprise solutions based on the MS D365 and its platforms.
Facilitates discussions with business and technical stakeholders to extract critical business requirements and presents a technical vision and solutions in the form of software products, modules, configurations, customizations, and integrations to meet those needs within Dynamics 365 CE and Power Platform.
Leads the technical side of the internal 'pre-sales' activities as required including designing and building demo and proof of concept solutions for various client presentations as well as presenting to clients.
Supports the Business Systems Analysts with requirements gathering and provide design guidance for Dynamics 365 CE and Power Platform projects. In close collaboration with and input from the Manager, Developers and QA teams, develops and presents the realistic effort and resource estimates for the projects.
Provides best practices and solution alternatives as part of functional or technical design documents.
Collaborates with the Transformation Office and external vendors on proposing, designing, and implementing solution architectures involving third-party SaaS solutions.
Mentor junior resources providing guidance and leadership within the team.
Undergraduate Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent education/experience.
8+ years of experience in IT.
7+ years of hands-on experience of building solutions using Microsoft Dynamics 365 CE, Power Platform product.
Proven experience as a technical architect, or solution architect with Dynamics 365.
Experience working with the Dynamics 365/CRM SDK to build plugins, custom workflows, and applications.
NET Framework, C# development and various JavaScript frameworks and libraries such as vue.js, React and Typescript.
Experience developing custom applications and integrations directly with the Microsoft Dynamics 365 CE, Power Platform and Azure.
Scrum methodology awareness and previous work in an agile environment.
Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining technical architectures, documentation, frameworks, and strategies as they relate to Microsoft Dynamics implementations.
