Reporting to the Sr Manager, Central Assortment & Space Planning Systems, the SAP Assortment Specialist manages the accurate creation and maintenance of assortment data in SAP via Layout modules, as-well as supporting aspects of the Planogram process. These data-relationships drive the authorizations of products in our SAP & downstream systems ultimately allowing for our stores to process sales and other transactional data and as such are an integral part of the smooth operation of our stores.

In this position, you will work closely with the rest of the Central assortment team, Category teams, Space Planning, Supply Chain and other business partners ensuring that the assortment needs of the business are met, while also ensuring that established rules, standards, guardrails and store availability considerations are respected, often in time-sensitive situations.

You will need to have a strong understanding of assortment by becoming a knowledge expert on assortment processes, quickly understand the intricacies/interconnectedness of data between various systems including SAP & Supply Chain processes/systems, coupled with a very strong attention to detail. What You'll Do:

  • Create, maintain & manage SAP Layout Modules according to the standards set out by the Assortment team while meeting Category, Supply Chain & stakeholder needs for assortment.
  • Liaise with a variety of internal colleagues in Category, Live Assortment, Space Planning, Floor Planning, Data Operations, Merchandising, Supply Chain, as needed.
  • Manage requests submitted via a Centralized mailbox, and via an SAP workbench.
  • Work with Category teams, store specialists and other stakeholders to understand assortment strategy and ad-hoc requests and incorporate it into existing assortment structure and design according to defined standards/guardrails, keeping store availability in mind.
  • Educate teams on the assortment process, options, tool functionality and benefits and identify any training needs where persistent training gaps exist
  • Lead/facilitate regular touchpoint meetings with category for assortment review for validity, accuracy, and completeness.
  • Generate assortment integrity checks (AIC’s) and ensure resolution of issues before processing assortment changes, including processes tied to Planogram releases.
  • Maintain site to cluster/Layout Module assignments for assortment transitions (ex. Store Flips, Banner Conversions, Renovations)
  • Communicate, prioritize, and resolve issues in a timely manner, and escalate as required.
  • Identify process or SAP enhancement opportunities and report any defects or issues, as well as lead process improvement opportunities.
  • Support ad-hoc projects, business reporting needs, and other activities as dictated by business needs.
  • Support store Minimum Presentation inquiries (this can include MPQ notifications, Assortment notifications, weekly assortment & planogram reporting, etc).
What You'll Need:
  • 1-3 Years working experience within an SAP environment
  • Working knowledge of SAP Assortment, a definite asset
  • Strong attention to detail is a must, as the role impacts store authorizations directly.
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel (Vlookup, Pivottables, Macros a bonus)
  • Microsoft Access experience a plus.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills with an ability to quickly connect dots. This will support effective decision making and problem solving which is integral to the role
  • Strong communication skills required for communicating to a variety of groups and levels.
  • Proven ability to respond to new situations and work in a constantly changing environment.
  • Able to effectively manage multiple projects and prioritize work to meet deadlines
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field.
