Job Application for Law Clerk - TorontoWe have an opening for a Law Clerk for civil litigation. We are interested in a serviceoriented and responsive law clerk who is able to handle a broad range of complex files.Civil litigation experience and skills is desired. They successful candidate will be self-motivated, independent, and have the ability to multi-task.Responsibilities and Duties:Drafting, preparing and proof-reading legal documents, such as correspondence, pleadings, motions, mediation briefs, affidavit of documents, compile productions, and other court forms/documentsProvide support to lawyer in all day-to-day operations on litigation files, to manage file carriage, and meet deadlinesThe ability to work independently, prioritize, adjust to changing priorities, and successfully complete numerous short and long-term assignments simultaneously in a team environmentDemonstrated sound understanding of legal proceduresEnter dockets and prepare accountsInvoicing, scheduling, and follow up on payments.Other general office and clerical dutiesQualifications and Skills:Law Clerk Diploma and equivalent 2+ years of experience in a civil litigation and family law; also an Undergraduate degree (preferred), and excellent written and oral communication and analytical skillsDriven to provide exceptional client service, have the capacity to perform duties with speed and accuracy with a strong attention to detailSelf-starter, take initiative with a strong work ethic, and ability to work independently with minimum supervision and collaborate within a team in a fast paced, high volume environmentExcellent oral and written communication skills, including spelling and grammarExcellent time management and organized, methodical approach to completion of tasks, including maintain a reminder system to diarizeThe ability to prioritize work effectively for self and others, meet tight deadlines and work well under pressureProfessional attitude, critical thinker with sound judgment, ability to problem solve, are resourceful, and have solid research skillsStrong interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with clients directly in a professional mannerExcellent typing and computer skillsAbout Juzkiw LawJuzkiw Law PC is boutique litigation law firm.
