Financial Data Consultant – Loan Data Migration & Reporting

Location:

Overview:

Our client, a prominent financial institution, is seeking a Financial Data Consultant to lead critical loan data migration and reporting projects. This role is ideal for professionals who bring a unique mix of technical expertise in data management (SQL, Python, Tableau), financial reporting skills, and knowledge of IFRS 9 standards. The successful candidate will have hands-on experience with loan data (personal, commercial, mortgage, or Loan IQ), data reconciliation, and delivering actionable insights through reporting tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to map, validate, and migrate loan data (personal, commercial, mortgage, or Loan IQ) with high precision.
  • Execute data reconciliation and ensure accuracy, integrity, and consistency throughout the migration process.
  • Develop and deliver detailed end-user reports and dashboards using Tableau, SQL, Python, and Excel, tailored to meet stakeholder requirements.
  • Lead and execute User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for loan management systems, identifying discrepancies, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring workflow functionality aligns with business goals.
  • Analyze data post-migration to ensure smooth integration and operational success, providing actionable insights for decision-making.
  • Serve as a bridge between technical and business teams, effectively translating business needs into technical solutions.
  • Apply strong knowledge of IFRS 9 standards to ensure regulatory compliance and accurate financial reporting.

Qualifications:

  • Mandatory:
    Proven experience in data migration and reporting in financial services, with a focus on loan data (personal, commercial, mortgage, Loan IQ, etc.).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience working with large datasets, performing UAT, and creating data-driven reports and dashboards.
  • Strong technical proficiency in SQL , Python , and Tableau for data analysis and visualization.
  • In-depth knowledge of IFRS 9 standards and their application in financial reporting and loan management.
  • Experience with data reconciliation and troubleshooting within financial systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with loan management systems such as Loan IQ or similar platforms.
  • Experience migrating and reconciling different types of loan data, including commercial, mortgage, and personal loans.
  • Strong analytical skills combined with excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities to effectively bridge technical and business requirements.
