We are seeking anexperienced and highly skilled Disability Management and AccommodationSpecialist to join our dynamic team. Serve as the primary point of contact for external disability management providers and advisors; ensure strong partnership, service, and outcomes in accordance with contract details and program goals.
Manage the disability claims management and WSIB (Workplace Safety and Insurance Board) activities; ensuring adherence to policies and processes. Act as the primary resource for the People & Culture Business Partners seeking guidance on disability-related matters or employee disability and WSIB claims.
Experience in vendor management, particularly in the context of disability cases, demonstrating the ability to oversee and ensure effective partnerships with external service providers.
Administer absence management programs and collaborate with People & Culture team members and Leaders related to medical accommodations.
Participate in disability contracts/renewals, third-party consultant agreements, and policies and processes to achieve strategic and operational goals.
Ensure claims management, accommodation and absence data is accurate, timely, and enables ongoing analysis. Complete trend analysis and forward-looking insights.
Develop, implement, and manage occupational health and safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards
Provide support related to corporate employee health and safety, ergonomics, and well-being programs within the context of the GS hybrid work model.
Create and facilitate education and training related to disability management, accommodation, and absence management programs, policies, and processes.
Stay abreast of legislative changes and best practices to ensure GS's policies and processes remain compliant and effective.
Generate reports for management, highlighting the effectiveness of disability management and related programs and suggesting enhancements where necessary.

5 years or more experience advising in disability claims management, absence management, and accommodation, and achieving program goals.
~ A self-starter with the ability to assess needs, analyze and advise on complex and sensitive situations and recommend practical solutions for employees experiencing a disability.
~ Knowledge of relevant legislation, policy and process development, reporting and governance.
~ Experience working in a unionized environment an asset.
