We are seeking an experienced Program Manager/Senior Project Manager for a permanent or long-term contract position with the possibility of transitioning to a permanent role.  Candidates must be legally entitled to work in Canada and can be located in Calgary or East Canada.

Hybrid schedule, 8 hours a day, 40 hours a week.

Travel requirements: 1 week to New York, USA every 4 weeks.

Our client is on the hunt for an experienced Program Manager with a strong technical background and solid understanding of data analytics and data projects. Responsible for delivering and enabling a Customer Data Platform that is an SaaS product, the successful candidate will bring enterprise delivery experience across a variety of disciplines including customer-facing business areas, enabling business units, and technology.

With the goal of optimizing internal delivery capacity while driving customer satisfaction, the Senior Project Manager will play a critical role in ensuring delivery timeline expectations are met and that key risks are surfaced, mitigated, and managed with the Product and Engineering teams.

Role Responsibilities
  • Attend and participate in quarterly meetings with senior leaders and executives to discuss project outcomes, objectives, and key results.
  • Develop precise delivery scope statements and timelines, define role responsibilities and performance metrics, and oversee all internal and external stakeholders across various product lines. This alignment is based on the defined scope, considering the available product and engineering capabilities, project plans, and roadmaps.
  • Provide leadership for the project team by building and motivating team members to meet project goals, adhering to their responsibilities and project milestones.
  • Identify and manage key risks (including technical risks) to a project’s success with key stakeholders
  • Work collaboratively with project teams including Product, Engineering and Project leaders.
  • Simplify intricate internal requirements, challenges, or proposed solutions into well-defined pathways for progress. Proactively address any internal obstacles and consistently drive all stakeholders to meet their commitments promptly and consistently.
  • Communicate product needs and customer milestones and manage senior stakeholders against key dependencies.
  • Report to the Business Unit Leaders and Executive team members on milestone progress, accountability performance, impediment removal and mitigation progress.
  • Create change management plans to support the project implementation life cycle.

Required Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or post-secondary diploma in Business, Computer Science, or Engineering, or equivalent education and/or project management experience
  • Experience delivering enterprise level initiatives (complex implementations at an enterprise level). 
  • Prior experience in a software development environment.
  • Extensive experience with executive and senior stakeholders - strong facilitation skills with these groups to drive commitments and decision making.
  • Strong PMLC and SDLC knowledge and experience.
  • Must have strong Agile experience.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, and decision-making skills.
  • Very strong communication skills.
  • Strong collaboration and negotiation skills - ability to drive decision making.
  • Strong leadership skills - inspire and lead to delivery.
  • Strong experience with Risk Management - proactive identification and mitigation.
  • Strategic and creative thinker.
  • Solid finance and business acumen.
  • Strong planning skills.
  • Strong commitment to continuous improvement.
Technical skills – Must be familiar with:
  • Business Intelligence/Data Analytics space.
  • Data engineering
  • Technical/solution/data service architecture
  • Cloud technology - AWS, GCP
  • Software and data integration, including data cleanup/integrity
