About the Part-Time Compensation Specialist Role

Our business is growing We are looking for a passionate Part-Time Compensation Specialist to work with our team of HR rockstars. The ideal candidate will have a passion for supporting clients in the design, analysis, and management of compensation programs.

This position is primarily remote; however, we are on-site at our clients’ workplaces when needed. Preference will be given to candidates in the Niagara to Kitchener area.

Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Client Engagement:
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their compensation needs, business goals, and industry benchmarks.
  • Conduct client meetings to gather comprehensive information regarding their compensation strategies and challenges.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor throughout the compensation project.

  1. RFP Development:
  • In coordination the Essential HR team, create comprehensive Request for Proposals (RFPs) tailored to each compensation project.
  • Define project objectives, scope, timelines, and deliverables within the RFP.
  • Collaborate with clients to identify key evaluation criteria and requirements for potential vendors or partners.

  1. Compensation Analysis:
  • Conduct in-depth compensation analyses to assess the competitiveness and equity of existing compensation programs.
  • Utilize market data and industry research to provide insights and recommendations for compensation adjustments.
  • Develop salary structures, pay ranges, and incentive programs to align with clients' strategic objectives.

  1. Compensation Design:
  • Design and propose innovative and competitive compensation packages to attract and retain top talent.
  • Create compensation reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to clients.
  • Collaborate with clients to ensure that compensation strategies align with their organizational culture and values.

  1. Project Implementation:
  • Assist clients in the implementation of approved compensation changes and programs.
  • Provide guidance and support during the transition period, including communication and change management efforts.
  • Monitor the effectiveness and performance of implemented compensation programs and make adjustments as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in compensation analysis, design, and consulting.
  • Proven experience in provincial and federal pay equity legislation.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation abilities.
  • Proficiency in compensation software and data analysis tools.
  • Knowledge of industry best practices and trends in compensation.

Schedule and Compensation:

This role will be considered a subcontractor position.

There are no set work hours, but the successful candidate must have flexibility in scheduling to accommodate client and internal company meetings held during typical daytime office hours.
