We are seeking qualified and experienced curriculum developers to contribute to the design and development of the new Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography Ontario College Graduate Certificate program at Fleming College. This role is critical in shaping a high-quality, accredited curriculum that meets provincial standards and prepares students for careers in cardiac sonography.
The Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography program will provide specialized training across four semesters in a flexible delivery format. Theoretical lessons will be delivered online, and practical lessons will be delivered during intensive instructional blocks over several weekends spaced throughout the semester in an active cardiology clinic. Focus within the curriculum will include simulation, geriatric patient care, and Indigenous Health provided through an immersive delivery format in a cardiology clinic.
The successful candidates will collaborate with subject matter experts, regulatory bodies, and academic stakeholders to create engaging, outcomes-based learning experiences that align with the Sonography Canada¿s National Competency Profile and CMRITO requirements.
Key responsibilities include: designing and developing course outlines, lesson plans, assessments, rubrics, and instructional materials; integrating adult learning principles, Universal Design for Learning (UDL), and AODA compliance; collaborating with faculty, clinical partners, and advisory committees; developing multimedia and online learning resources using D2L; and preparing instructor guides, student handouts, and digital assets for each course.
Graduate Certificate in Cardiac Sonography, Advanced Diploma in Diagnostic Imaging Technology, Graduate Certificate in Ultrasound, or Degree in Medical Sonography from an accredited institution.
Masters degree in Education, Health Sciences, or related field is an asset.
Current registration with ARDMS and/or Sonography Canada.
Current registration in good standing with College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO).
Minimum of five years of recent clinical experience in cardiac sonography.
Prior curriculum design experience or post-secondary teaching is preferred.
Strong knowledge of instructional design and adult learning theory.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, D2L, PACS, diagnostic imaging software, and educational technologies.
Excellent communication, organization, and project management skills.
As per the non full-time academic salary grid - Development Rate for Credit Courses - $42.45/hour
