Your Tasks

Welcome to the Beiersdorf Management Unit Germany/Switzerland Dive into the heart of strategic Procurement as a Category Buyer, where you’ll be a vital part of our diverse Procurement team within the Supply Chain division.


This role is central to managing categories crucial to our German and Swiss Value Added Services (VAS) business operations. As a Category Buyer, you’ll not only oversee the strategy for Co-Packing & Components but also be in the lead to execute the tender for embedded operations at our new Distribution Center in Leipzig – a project of great significance for Beiersdorf’s Supply Chain.

Fluency in German is a must, ensuring seamless collaboration with top-tier business stakeholders and suppliers. Crafting and executing mid- and long-term sourcing strategies for Co-Packing/VAS Operations while adhering to Procurement compliance standards and methodologies will also be central to your responsibilities.

In a nutshell your responsibilties include:

  • Develop and implement local category and sourcing strategies, integrating market insights and legal updates.
  • Manage end-to-end Procurement processes including supplier selection, negotiations, contracts, and performance monitoring, aligning with agreed-upon objectives.
  • Cultivate strong supplier relationships to build a resilient supply network meeting Beiersdorf standards and mitigating risks.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to drive innovation and implement creative solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and procurement procedures, including Purchase Order approval.
  • Maintain and assure quality of master data for negotiation and contracting processes, enhancing efficiency.
  • Lead process development initiatives for standardization, efficiency, and automation, leveraging new technologies and systems while monitoring adherence.
Your Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, supply chain, or related field
  • Minimum 4 years of procurement experience; FMCG, VAS, or logistics experience is a plus
  • Strong digital drive, with a focus on project management and proactive planning
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills in English and of course, German
  • Proven ability to meet strategic and tactical priorities within specified timelines
  • Innovative and forward-thinking mindset
  • Proficient in analytical skills for data-driven decision-making
  • Financial expertiese, negotiation skills, and results-driven orientation
  • Kowledge of SAP/SRM/CLM, e-sourcing, P2P processes, MS Office proficiency, and BI tools
