The Apprentice - Machinist will be responsible for ensuring prevention and maintenance as required and performed in a professional manner. Apprentice - Machinists set up and operate a variety of machine tools to cut or grind metal, plastic, or other materials to make or modify parts or products with precise dimensions.
This role requires membership in the Teamsters Union, Local 213.
Apprentice wage rates fall between 65% and 95% of the Journeyperson-Tradesperson rate, which stands at $45.90 per hour. We take into account the apprentice’s most recent level of schooling completed and the hours recorded with Skilled Trades BC.
Additionally, apprentices can receive a tool premium of $0.20 cents per hour worked.
Monday to Friday, 6:00am – 2:30pm

Must have completed Machinist Foundation course.
Ability to read, interpret and follow diagrams, drawings, blueprints, sketches, assembly instructions, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, troubleshooting instructions and engineering specifications.
Strong understanding of mechanical, electromechanical, general rotating machinery, wire production machinery, hydraulics, water cooling, pumps, and other systems.
