Reporting tothe Director of Inter-Professional Practice Chief Nursing Executive (CNE), theClinical PracticeManager will be responsible for ensuring quality patient care through theadvancement of nursingknowledge and professional practice. In this role, the incumbent is responsiblefor planning, coordinating, implementingand evaluating the Clinical Education Program, and the ongoing Clinical Educationthrough best practices of staff and course participants for PerioperativeServices and Medical DeviceReprocessing Department (MDRD). Hours of work are days and afternoons, with acommitment of 45 hours per bi-weekly pay period. The position has an expectedcontract end date of December 31, 2024.

Job Functions

  • Adhere topolicies and procedures established for the assigned department whilesupporting the

  • Maintain theconfidentiality of all patient information
  • Act as a leaderto nursing staff and health care team, regarding evidence based advanced
  • nursingpractice, problem based needs analysis and strategies for change
  • Assist nursingstaff in the development of clinical decision-making and problem solving skills
  • through caseconsultation, clinical demonstration, case review, bedside rounds, etc.
  • Act as aresource person, through informal and formal conferencing with nursing andother allied
  • health careprofessionals in determining appropriate strategies to achieve patient-focused
  • outcomes
  • Develop programspecific patient/nursing care standards in keeping with the corporate strategic
  • direction, theCollege of Nurses of Ontario
  • Act as a rolemodel in the application of standards and philosophy of nursing practice andnursing
  • process, in thedelivery of patient care and nursing education.
  • Direct anddeveloping nursing education and professional development programs within the
  • program/specialtyarea and across the corporation.
  • Conduct needsassessment in order to determine the educational requirements of the staff and
  • legislatedrequirements of the specialty area.
  • Establishclinical outcomes of education programs.
  • Perform anyother relevant duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Certificate ofCompetence with the College of Nurses (CNO) required
  • Bachelor ofScience in Nursing (BScN) required
  • 5 years recentrelevant clinical experience preferred
  • Recent teachingexperience (e.g.: facilitating for an educational institution, deliveringin-services
  • toInterprofessional in a clinical setting, teaching formalized educationprograms, and/or other
  • similarrecognized adult teaching experience) required
  • Masters ofScience in Nursing (MScN) preferred
  • Experience inplanning, developing and evaluating educational programs preferred
  • Graduate ofpost-basic course in Intensive Care Nursing, or recognized equivalent an asset
  • CardiopulmonaryResuscitation (CPR) Instructor Level an asset
  • Provider LevelAdvanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) registration an asset
  • Instructorlevel ACLS an asset
