What You'll Be Doing
The Senior Consultant, Risk and Governance will help execute on the approach to risk governance across technology and endorse stakeholder engagement by managing and delivering on key Risk Governance activities, SOX Office Maintenance Officer (“SOMO”) accountabilities, and acting as a liaison between internal technology teams, and internal and external risk partners. The scope includes supporting Technology portfolios (e.g. Application Delivery teams or Technology Operations teams). You’ll manage key controls to mitigate operational exposures and potential losses and will support CiBC’s Control Framework to ensure compliance to regulatory, legislative, and operational requirements, including the efficient and effective management of deficiency remediation. As part of supporting the relationship, you’ll be a key contributor to the operational risk strategy for the assigned Line of Business (LOB) within TI&I

How You’ll Succeed
Relationship Building - A key attribute you will have will be your ability to effectively interact and build relationships internally and externally to CIBC. Relationship manager and collaborative consultant with business partners and 2nd and 3rd Lines of Defense for all matters relating to operational risk. When issues are identified,obtaining buy-in to close these issues is challenging and requires strong relationship management skills to be successful
Risk Assessment/Risk Consulting - Work closely with LOB partners to proactively identify risk exposures and control gaps. Analyze and synthesize risk exposures, operational losses, root causes and control gaps. Proactively assess and recommend self-assessed deficiencies. Propose recommendations to mitigate risk exposures and control gaps

Who You Are
You can demonstrate experience in. Internal audit or 2nd line of defense in addition to risk management and regulatory compliance principles, practices, policies and procedures.
You're a certified professional. Current accreditation and good standing CISA, CRISC, CISSP is an asset.

Prior to starting in this role, security checks, including a criminal record check must be successfully completed to the satisfaction of CIBC. An annual criminal record check may also be required.
