Reporting to the Associate Dean, Academic, the Department Head provides operational and administrative leadership to program academic and non-academic staff within a department to achieve the highest possible standards of excellence in all its activities. A department consists of a group of programs and has both instructional, administrative, and non-administrative staff supporting it. The successful candidate will be assigned to one of the four departments within the JR Shaw School of Business.


They understand the importance of relationship building and will demonstrate respect and open-mindedness while supporting their team.


The successful candidate will manage complexity while planning and prioritizing work in alignment with organizational goals. ensuring that infrastructure is supported with appropriate human, financial, and technical resources
Works closely with the chairs to ensure the operational needs of the programs are met supporting sustainable delivery of quality curriculum and instructional excellence.
Complies with quality assurance and risk management procedures, both internally and externally
Experience working in a post-secondary environment would be considered an asset.
