The Role

As a PepsiCo Diesel Mechanic, you will play a critical role in providing the safest, most reliable equipment to our people; enabling them to service our customers and providing our consumers the products they look for and enjoy each and every day. Leveraging our world class PM program, ongoing training and technology investments, and leading predictive diagnostic software, you will be empowered to make decisions and Act as an Owner. Compensation:

  • Hourly Rate: $38.82/hr
  • Eligible for Benefits & Pension programs
  • Afternoon Shift Premium: $1.10/hr
  • Travel Premium: $1.00/hr on the road
  • Meal Allowance: $75/day
  • Boot Allowance: $275.00/yr
  • Tool Allowance: $345/yr

Responsibilities

In this role you will help us get our famous brands to the people who love them across Canada . H ere’s what you’ll be doing :

  • Perform ing preventative maintenance on equipment as assigned
  • Diagnos ing vehicle failures and perform mechanical repairs and replacements as required
  • Respond ing to local road calls and/or coordinate service support as necessary
  • Maintain ing work area appearance and safety
  • Perform ing all assigned duties in a safe and productive manner
  • Leverag ing predictive diagnostic software to aid in eliminating vehicle breakdowns
  • Us ing hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, pressure gauges, and precision instruments; as well as power tools such as pneumatic wrenches, welding equipment, jacks and hoists
  • Maintain ing accurate records of daily activities through asset management system
  • Complet ing all necessary documents, including eHOS and electronic vehicle inspection records
  • Other duties and tasks assigned by Fleet Supervisor/Manager

Qualifications

  • Journeyman Red Seal Heavy Duty Equipment Technician certificat
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required
  • Working knowledge in use of hand tools is required
  • Commercial Vehicle Inspection certificate (MB) is preferred
  • Valid C lass 1 / AZ O perators L icense is preferred but not required
  • D edication to safety
  • Strong computer and mathematical skillset
  • Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
