Description Du Poste

L'ingenieur en systemes satellitaires effectuera et participera aux taches et activites suivantes, selon le parcours et l'experience du candidat :

  • Diriger, developper et maintenir les exigences du systeme depuis le niveau de la mission jusqu'au niveau du sous-systeme majeur du point de vue mecanique ou electrique (plate-forme, charge utile, segment sol) en fonction des exigences de la mission et des besoins des clients.
  • Etudes de compromis sur la conception de la mission pour concevoir et developper les sous-systemes globaux de la mission
  • Elaboration des budgets de performance, des rapports de conception et CONOPS
  • Soutenir le developpement et l'analyse des missions telles que les budgets de liaison, les analyses de couverture, la precision de la geolocalisation, les budgets de connaissances de pointage, la masse...
  • Developpement et maintenance d'ICD (Interface Control Documents) entre les principaux sous-systemes de mission tels que Platform to Payload.
  • Examen du materiel de conception fourni par les sous-traitants pour garantir la conformite aux exigences et aux SOC
  • Modelisation de satellites dans une approche MBSE
  • Developpement de procedures de tests de satellites et supervision de leur execution.
  • Verification et validation des activites de la mission globale et developpement de procedures operationnelles pour la mise en service en orbite et les operations de routine de la mission.
  • Surveiller les fournisseurs de MDA et l'equipe produit integree.
  • Participer a l'evaluation des performances electriques et RF du satellite.
  • Fournir des contributions et diriger ou soutenir toutes les revisions de programmes, y compris EQSR, SRR, PDR, CDR.
  • Prise en charge de l'integration et des tests de l'assemblage de satellites.
  • Assistez a toutes les revues de tests TRR, TRB, DRB et Client.
  • Prise en charge des tests satellites : EGSE, supervision des tests, analyse des donnees.
  • Prise en charge des tests satellites chez MDA, dans les installations de test ou dans les locaux du fournisseur S/C.
  • Prise en charge du test en orbite (IOT).
  • Rediger les procedures et le manuel d'exploitation du satellite.

Qualifications requises:

  • Baccalaureat en ingenierie dans un domaine pertinent avec plus de 5 annees d'experience pertinente
  • Experience anterieure en conception et en test avec des satellites et sous-systemes LEO/MEO
  • Comprehension de l'environnement spatial et de la mecanique orbitale
  • Solide comprehension des systemes aerospatiaux et des principes fondamentaux de l'ingenierie
  • Experience pertinente en matiere de tests de sous-systemes satellitaires
  • Capacite demontree a tester les systemes RF et a resoudre les problemes
  • Personne pratique capable de diriger tous les processus d'integration de systemes.
  • Experience en matiere de tests de qualification et d'acceptation de nouvelles conceptions
  • Haut degre d'attention aux details
  • Capacite demontree a travailler efficacement avec peu ou Client de supervision
  • Capacite a resumer des problemes complexes en fondamentaux a resoudre avec analyse, similarite ou creativite
  • Experience dans la creation ou l'utilisation de modeles et/ou de logiciels de simulation
  • Demontrer d'excellentes competences en communication ecrite et verbale en anglais ; la connaissance du franc'ais sera consideree favorablement
  • Experience de direction et d'encadrement d'une equipe technique
  • Soutenir l'equipe des operations du vaisseau spatial dans les phases critiques

Satellite Systems Platform Specialist (experience in Space is mandatory)

The Satellite Systems Engineer Will Perform And Participate In The Following Tasks And Activities, Depending On The Background And Experience Of The Candidate

  • Lead, Develop and maintain the System requirements from the mission level down to the major subsystem level for Mechanical or Electrical standpoint (Platform, Payload, Ground Segment) based on Mission requirements and customer needs
  • Mission design trade-off studies to design and develop the overall mission subsystems
  • Development of performance budgets, design reports and CONOPS
  • Support the mission development and analysis such as link budgets, coverage analyses, geolocation accuracy, pointing knowledge budgets, mass...
  • Development and maintenance of ICDs (Interface Control Documents) between the major mission subsystems such as Platform to Payload.
  • Review of design material provided by Subcontractors to ensure compliance to requirements and SOCs
  • Satellite Modeling in a MBSE approach
  • Development of Satellite test procedures and oversight of their execution.
  • Verification & Validation of activities of the overall mission and development of operations procedures for on-orbit commissioning and routine operations of the mission.
  • Monitor MDA's suppliers and the integrated product team.
  • Participate in the Satellite electrical and RF performance evaluation.
  • Provide inputs and lead or support to all program reviews including EQSR, SRR, PDR, CDR.
  • Support Satellite Assembly Integration and Test.
  • Attend all test reviews TRR, TRB, DRB, and Client's.
  • Support Satellite testing: EGSE, Test supervision, data analysis.
  • Support Satellite tests at MDA, at test facilities or at S/C supplier premises.
  • Support In-Orbit Test (IOT).
  • Write Satellite procedures & Operations Manual.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering in a relevant field with 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Previous design and test experience with LEO/MEO satellites and sub-systems
  • Understanding of the space environment and orbit mechanics
  • Strong understanding of aerospace systems and engineering fundamentals
  • Relevant Experience with testing of satellite subsystems
  • Demonstrated capability to test RF systems and resolve problems
  • Hands-on individual who can lead all systems integration processes
  • Experience with qualification and acceptance testing of new designs
  • High degree of attention to detail
  • Demonstrated capability to efficiently work with little to no supervision
  • Ability to distill complex problems to fundamentals to solve with analysis, similarity, or creativity
  • Experience creating or using models and/or simulation software
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communications skills in English; knowledge of French will be considered favorably
  • Experience leading and coaching a technical team
  • Support the spacecraft operations team in critical phases
