Our Buildings team works closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the Pembina Institute maximizes its impact in decarbonizing Canada’s buildings sector by monitoring emerging local and global economic and environmental trends and their implications. We’re looking for a Senior Analyst based ideally out of our offices in Edmonton or Calgary to join our Buildings team. * We’ll lean on you to provide research, strategic advice, qualitative and quantitative analysis, writing, policy advocacy and fundraising support for the Buildings program at the Pembina Institute.  You pay attention to detail and accuracy and have a strong ability to conduct research of quantitative and qualitative data, particularly in building energy systems and decarbonization. You have excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills, and demonstrated success communicating with policy makers and executives. Your project management skills and proficiency with data management software tools are strong, as is your commitment to sustainability and social change. Lead projects from inception to completion.
Conduct policy and regulatory analysis, including qualitative and quantitative impacts and outcomes for various policy options.
Synthesize research into easily digestible technical reports, briefing notes, and blog posts.
Develop and maintain constructive relationships with other ENGOS, Indigenous representatives, the private sector, utilities and governments.
Support strategic planning to effectively design and execute on the Buildings program’s priorities in Alberta.
Minimum of three years of related work experience in a professional environment, such as utility, industry, government, or the not-for-profit sector. A combination of work experience and education may be considered.
Minimum of an undergraduate degree in engineering, sciences, business, economics, law, public policy, or a related field; Prior experience with building, energy and/or environmental policy advocacy is highly valuable.
Prior experience with external media and communications is considered an asset.
Prior experience in corporate sustainability, climate tech or energy development is considered an asset.
Within this range, individual pay is determined by factors inclusive of job-related skills, related experience, education and/or training, and internal equity.
