Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a creative highly talented Wastewater Engineer for full-time employment based in our Markham office (or one of our other Greater Toronto Area offices - Mississauga or Whitby). The appropriately qualified candidate will have a successful track record in the design of complex municipal wastewater facilities, with experience at industrial facilities considered an asset. You will work in a team environment to deliver advanced wastewater treatment projects to our client base. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  1. Working successfully within a team environment and communicate effectively with other project team members and customers
  2. Support in the delivery of infrastructure to customers mostly within the municipal wastewater sector
  3. Provide detailed calculations for wastewater processes
  4. Prepare technical specifications and detailed designs
  5. Preparation of technical reports
  6. Provide construction support, site inspections and commissioning

Minimum Requirements

  1. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering or related field
  2. 6+ years of experience in design, construction administration of municipal wastewater projects
  3. Registered Professional Engineer in a Canadian province or ability to become registered within 12 months
  4. Wastewater treatment design and optimization experience
  5. Consulting engineering, cost estimating and specification writing experience
  6. Must possess a valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Master’s degree in water/wastewater treatment
  2. 10+ years of consulting engineering experience
  3. Motivated, team player, organized, excellent communication skills, with ability to work independently.
  4. Ability to take a project from inception through conceptual, preliminary and detailed designs and ultimately through to construction and commissioning
  5. Strong report writing capability
  6. Coordinating multidisciplinary teams
  7. Strong work ethic and the desire to excel
