Being an AAHA accredited hospital we set high standards to provide the best quality of care to our patients. We have digital x-ray, ultrasound, extensive in house blood testing, urinalysis, offer TPLO and other orthopedic surgery and every dental includes full mouth digital radiographs.
Prince George is considered BC’s Northern Capital and offers city life including shopping, theaters, cinemas, museums and concerts as well as numerous outdoor activities like skiing, hiking, fishing and camping. The surgery RVT will assist the surgeon: prepping patients, placing IV catheters, monitoring anesthetized patients during surgery (using equipment like Petmap, Vetcorder and capnography monitoring; our other techs will be happy to show you how to use them if you haven’t before), scrubbing in for more complicated surgical procedures, recovering patients, performing dental radiographs and cleaning and general radiology.
Additionally, this position includes some shifts as a treatment room technologist where you are medicating, assessing and taking care of hospitalized patients. There will also be some shifts as an outpatient RVT .
We offer a starting range $28-$32/hour based on experience and extensive benefits: paid vacation, paid time off for CE, $1000 CE allowance, extended health and dental coverage, BCVTA dues, annual pet care credit starting at $300, heavily discounted in house service, pet food and retail items.
