Effective July 1, 2024, a Full time Staff Neonatologist position is available at the Department of Paediatric Medicine - Mount Sinai Hospital, 600 University Avenue, Toronto, Ontario. The successful candidate must be eligible for a full-time academic appointment at the University of Toronto at the rank of assistant or associate professor.


Mount Sinai Hospital, part of Sinai Health, is one of Canada's pre-eminent patient care, research and academic health science centres affiliated with the University of Toronto. The Department has a tradition of excellence in Neonatal clinical care, education and research and is closely allied to the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. The Department in conjunction with the Division of Neonatology at the Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto, Canada and Sunnybrook Hospital, Toronto, Canada forms part of a Fellowship Training Program in Neonatology, which is fully accredited by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.


The successful candidate should have excellent clinical and teaching skills, with proficiency in leading a multidisciplinary team in the care of high-risk newborns. This candidate must be committed to provide, advance, and promote excellence in clinical care, education, quality improvement, and have scholarly focus that will lead to academic advancement within the School of Medicine. An interest in community paediatrics and outreach programs would be of added benefit. Evidence of excellence in teaching and research is required.


The successful candidate must be able to function proficiently in English, hold an MD, MBBS or equivalent thereto and be certified or eligible for certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or have comparable qualifications. Candidates are required to have a minimum of two years of subspecialty training in Neonatal-Perinatal medicine. Candidates must hold or be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.


The successful candidate must be eligible for an academic appointment at the University of Toronto. In addition to salary the successful candidate will be eligible for health and dental benefits and academic allowance.
