STRABAG is actively seeking a ContractsAdministrator for our Canadian division where he/she can utilize theirextensive knowledge to contribute to the continued success and growth of theorganization. The successful candidate will work at the main office of theScarborough Subway Expansion Project in Scarborough.
Job Summary:
The Contract Administrator will manage the maincontract and subcontracts by the Company policies and procedures. He/she willhave a thorough understanding of contracting principles and construction lawand have good experience in the field of contract management in construction.
Essential Duties andResponsibilities:
- Prepare and issue subcontracting modificationsincluding change orders, change directives and amendments
- Review and finalize monthly payment certificates withclient and subcontractors
- Assist in preparation of claims and additional workrequests; liaise with scheduler and cost controller
- Coordination and preparation of all contractualcorrespondence and submittals
- Prepare, review andadminister contracts/subcontracts of varying types
- Review policies and procedures to facilitate contractterms
- Review of Prime Contract and assist other team memberswith compliance of specifications/requirements as stipulated
- Maintain contractual correspondence within documentmanagement system
- Assist in the measurement of works progress andpreparation of reports
- Participate in proposals and tenders for new projects
- Performsother related duties and tasks as assigned
Knowledge and Skills:
- Effectivecommunication and negotiation skills
- Excellentoral and written English skills essential
- Commitmentto ethical business conduct and trust with sensitive information
- Goodorganizational skills with keen attention to detail
- Knowledgeof local construction laws and practices
- Self-motivated, persistent,and flexible, team player
Qualifications:
- 5+ years’ experience in contract and/ or subcontract management/administration in the construction industry
- Engineering background inCivil, Construction Management, or Quantity Surveying required
- Bachelor’s degree in eitherCivil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Law, or similar
- Knowledge of standardCanadian construction law/regulations
