Position Overview: Reporting to the Manager, Marketing and Communications, you will be responsible for developing and implementing social media strategies to increase brand awareness, engagement, and traffic across various platforms. You will be passionate about social media trends, possesses excellent communication skills, and can effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams. You will have a passion for impact, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, high emotional intelligence and be comfortable with ambiguity.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive social media strategies to enhance brand visibility, engagement, and reach.
  • Create engaging and relevant content (visual and written) for various social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and others.
  • Manage the day-to-day activities on social media platforms, including scheduling the social media calendar, posting content, responding to comments and messages, and engaging with followers.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to gather content, stories, and updates to share on social media.
  • Monitor social media trends, tools, and applications to stay updated on best practices and emerging opportunities.
  • Analyze social media performance metrics and provide regular reports to assess the effectiveness of campaigns and strategies.
  • Identify opportunities for partnerships, collaborations, and influencer engagement to amplify our message and reach new audiences.
  • Stay informed about current events, news, and trends relevant to the settlement and family services sector, and incorporate them into social media content where appropriate.
  • Uphold CCS’s mission, values, and brand guidelines in all social media activities.
  • Support the Marketing and Communications’ day-to-day operations with administrative and coordination tasks.

What you need to succeed:
Education/Credentials:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or related field.
    Experience:
  • Proven experience (2-3 years) in social media marketing, preferably in the non-profit or social services sector.

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, their respective audiences, and best practices for engagement.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English with the ability to craft compelling content tailored to different platforms and audiences.
  • Creative thinker with a passion for storytelling and content creation.
  • Proficiency in social media management tools and analytics platforms.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
  • Graphic design skills considered an asset.
  • Understanding of, and sensitivity to, issues affecting immigrant and refugee communities.
  • Understanding of Anti-Oppression and Anti-Racism Frameworks is considered an Asset.
  • Aptitude for working effectively and sensitively with people from diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Comfort with technology and communication platforms.
  • Understanding and strict adherence to Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).
  • Strong organizational and time management skills along with the ability to multitask.

Successful candidates will be asked to provide a successful Vulnerable Sector Criminal Records check.
