About the Oval High Performance Volleyball Program: OvalHP Volleyball provides a pathway of programs for athletes to start their journey and perform on the national team. The Richmond Olympic Oval team collaborated with Volleyball Canada to create the original Volleyball Canada Centre of Excellence (VCCE) model in Canada . This model was rebranded to the Volleyball Canada Regional Excellence Programs (REP) an d has since been rolled out by Volleyball Canada in various cities in Canada. For 1 4 years, the Oval HP REP program and our other programs have supported athletes on their journey to high performance, post-secondary education, provincial and national teams, and beyond. As the home of the Canadian Women’s National Team, the Oval is unique in that it offers Volleyball programming across the entire Athlete Development Continuum.
The Volleyball Head Coach of the Richmond Olympic Oval(“the Oval”)works as part of an integrated team of professionals to deliver coaching and training for the Oval High Performance ( OvalHP ) Volleyball programs.The Head Coach is responsible for leading and directingthe OvalHP Volleyball Pathway programs.Thisincludes creating training curriculums and plans for the Volleyball Canada Regional Excellence Program (REP), Atomic, Performance development, and seasonal camps. The Oval HP Head Coach is responsible for creating development strategies to enhance the skills and abilities of volleyball coaches.
1. Plan , organize and lead coach Oval HP & Volleyball Canada REP sessions ( Sept – May )
2. Support the development and implementation of curriculum and training plans for Oval HP Volleyball Pathway programming.
3. Plan, organize and deliver coach development opportunities for coaches.
4 . Complete administrative duties including but not limited to REP programming, Oval HP Pathway Programming and Coach Development.
5 . Follow guidelines, expectations, and C ode of Conduct for Oval HP Coaches and Staff.
6 . Collaborate with Oval HP staff, and IST to deliver an integrated and holistic training experience in accordance with LTD guidelines.
7. Champion OvalHP within the High-performance Volleyball community , actively seek out innovation, collaboration and ke y relationships amongst local clubs, Volleyball BC, and Volleyball Canada.
8. Embrace a Professional Development plan for ongoing improvement and development.
Qualifications, skills and experience:

Belief in an athlete-centered approach to athlete development.
Knowledge and Experience:
Demonstrate a blend of sport specific, intrapersonal, and interpersonal knowledge.
An understanding of the Train-to-Train and Train-to-Compete contexts.
Ability to build positive and productive relationships with others.
Self-awareness and continuous improvement .
A combination of playing and/or coaching experience at the Provincial Team or National Team, post-secondary and professional-level experience is considered an asset.
Licenses, Certificates, and Registrations:
Completion and maintenance of clear criminal record check
Valid First Aid and CPR-C/AED certificates
Completion of Foundations of Volleyball, CAC Safe Sport, Rule of 2 & Respect in Sport, Making Headway, and MED modules is required .
NCCP Advance Development Coach Certified is required.
Compensation & Benefits : $23.88-$50.00 per hour (Dependent on experience and qualifications). In-lieu of vacation & benefits you will receive an additional 12% on your hourly rate. Paid Sick leave, Municipal Pension Plan (MPP) and awesome Oval Perks including access to fitness, ice, courts, Metro Vancouver’s tallest climbing wall and other Oval amenities
Employment Type & Scheudle : Part-time (20-30 hours per week) – Evening s and weekends with some flexibility based on operational need s . Aticipated start date July 1, 2024.
