Are you a morning person? As a Lead Breakfast Server at Tyax Lodge & Heliskiing, you will be an ambassador for the company. The Lead Breakfast Server will provide warm, personalised service and have an extensive knowledge of our food and beverage program. You will be responsible for the guest’s well-being during breakfast and at times lunch. The responsibilities and qualifications of a Lead Breakfast Server include but are not limited to the following:

RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Responsible for opening of the restaurant and a successful setup for the day ahead
  • Ensuring a seamless dining experience for guests dining for breakfast & lunch.
  • Provide in-depth knowledge of company’s products and services
  • Taking food, drink and coffee orders and delivering to guests in a timely manner.
  • Use proper serving techniques
  • Prepare beverages using proper techniques, including specialty coffees, wine service, non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages
  • Clearing tables and re-setting for future guests
  • Assisting guests with questions about the drink and food menu in an informative and helpful way
  • Handle complaints and concerns of guests, bringing there to supervisor’s attention when necessary
  • Check on guest satisfaction
  • Maintenance of the buffet breakfast, ensuring items are always well stocked.
  • Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
  • Practice responsible alcohol service
  • Cash out and reconcile cash with total sales
  • R esponsible for bringing your daily float to each shift
  • Responsible for maintaining a cheerful, courteous disposition and a neat, clean and professional image with the ability to maintain a calm demeanour in a fast paced, high intensity environment
  • Complete daily, weekly and monthly cleaning duties as per requirements and training
  • Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage
  • Communicate with the kitchen department to ensure efficiency and a high level of service
  • Communicate with the afternoon team about any special guest requests, issues and happenings
  • Maintain set Health & Safety standards
  • Follow the regulations set forth by the B.C. Liquor Control and Licensing Branch
  • Operate according to the policies, procedures and quality standards established by the company

QUALIFICATIONS & ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED:

  • Must have Serving it Right certificate or obtain one prior to commencing employment
  • Required to be of legal age (19 years) to serve alcohol in British Columbia
  • 2-3 years’ experience in restaurant and/or hospitality industry with knowledge of the food and beverage service process
  • Supervisory experience an asset
  • Must be a self start and motivator
  • Must possess excellent communication, interpersonal, organisational and customer service skills 
  • Must be a team player
  • Responsible and dependable with a poised and friendly attitude
  • Must have attention to detail and the ability to multitask
  • Must remain flexible in regards to scheduling if need arises to cover other shifts
  • Experience with POS systems is an asset 
  • Additional language skills are an asset 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Will be required to be on your feet for extended periods of time
  • May be required to lift, bend and reach 

DATE REQUIRED:

Late May to Mid October 2024, with possibility to re-sign for the winter season
