Job Opportunity: Equipment (Wheel Loader) Operator

We are seeking a full-time position for an experienced Equipment (Wheel Loader) Operator for our Keddy Aggregate division in Coldbrook, Nova Scotia. We are looking for someone with a strong work ethic, ability to work independently under minimal supervision, and a safety-focused mindset.

Responsibilities
  1. Participating in all aspects of operation of the Wash Plant
  2. Safe and efficient operation of the front-end loaders and other equipment
  3. Transport Material, load trucks and feed screeners and hoppers in an efficient manner
  4. Perform daily safety and maintenance checks
  5. Quality control of product
  6. Communicating with other team members
  7. Reporting to the plant operator on any issues regarding quality, safety, maintenance, and production
  8. Carrying out facility maintenance requirements as directed from the plant operator
  9. Maintaining all levels of communication, such as production, log books, and verbal communication
  10. Required to maintain a clean work environment "everything has a place and everything in its place"
  11. Other duties, as may be required
Qualifications

Commitment to a safe work culture, comply with all safety policies and procedures, self-motivated, with the ability to work unsupervised, ability to work in a team environment. 2+ years of heavy equipment experience, Class 1/3 license will be considered an asset, mechanical aptitude & experience an asset. Overtime will be required. You must be able to work in hot/cold environments and be physically capable of performing manual tasks safely.
