Reporting to the President and Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Victoria Lee, the Vice President (VP) of Professional Practice, Quality, Learning, and Research drives forward positive health outcomes integral to the quality, safety, and standardization of practice and care. The Vice President will oversee a thriving portfolio of Quality and Patient Safety, Clinical Quality and Strategic Priorities, Professional Practice (Nursing and Allied Health) and Learning and Research.
As a clear, caring, and courageous leader in an organization that is evidence-based and results oriented, the Vice President of Professional Practice, Quality, Learning, and Research will ensure high standards of practice are set and maintained for programs and operations across the Fraser Health Region. Innovation and strategy will be essential components of the Vice President’s progressive and knowledge-based approach to ensuring the journey through our health care system is both high quality and seamless for patients, families, residents, and clients. By working with leaders to identify policies, leadership, and infrastructure that create and sustain an environment supporting patient-centeredness, the Vice President will cultivate linkages with community, regional, and provincial partners and will advance population specific health initiatives that serve the needs of all health populations. The Vice President will work with vision and drive to set and achieve comprehensive goals and outcomes of the Strategic Operating Plan and FH priorities, with awareness and care for established interim and long-range clinical and patient needs. Central to the Vice President’s role will be ability to connect with the health service areas of each hospital and the community served to champion high quality care at sites, in the communities and across the system.

Participate as a member of the Executive Team and the Clinical Operations Committee, holding accountability to provide strategy and leadership for Fraser Health to achieve goals and outcomes of the Strategic Operating Plan, Fraser Health priorities and long range needs.
# Liases with colleaguesto ensureseamless integration of strategies, operations and policies. Reports on performance of clinical programs, acute care sites and broader community needs.
# Works in partnership with members of the Executive Team, the Clinical Operations Committee and leaders across Fraser Health to lead and communicate strategies, operational plans and policies. Ensures appropriate linkage with the community served or issues related to the Community Hospitals and the Health Service Areas of each hospital and high quality care at sites, in the communities and across the system.
# oversees and leads Fraser Health's Patient Experience initiative(s) increasing the attention on the patient experience by working with leaders to identify tactics and tools, leadership, partnerships and infrastructure, and policies to create and sustain an environment supporting patient-centeredness.
# Models LEADS capabilities as a senior leader within Fraser Health.
# Develops an organizational structure, a human resources and a financial plan, program and performance objectives to support attainment of current and long range strategies and operational requirements. Develops and oversees, in conjunction with the Executive Team, Clinical Operations Committee and portfolio and program leadership, capital and operating budget plans. Oversees the planning, implementation and review of assigned clinical programs and services. Reviews services in terms of seamless systems integration, quality, standardization or practice and care, safety and positive health outcomes.
# Build linkages and partnership with Hospital Foundations to ensure synergy with Fraser Health's strategic and operational plans.
# Oversees and leads Fraser Health's Patient Experience Initiative increasing the attention on the patient experience by working with leaders to identify tactics and tools, leadership, partnerships and infrastructure, and policies to create and sustain an environment supporting patient-centeredness.
# Build linkages and partnerships with the Hospital Foundations to ensure synergy with Fraser Health's strategic and operational plans.
# Provides senior leadership to advance standards of practice for health science and nursing professionals. Master's Degree in Health, Business Administration or a related field.
Fifteen (15) years or more of recent, related experience including that at the senior leadership level of a complex health organization involving leadership of the development, implementation and evaluation of complex service delivery systems.

Professional/Technical Capabilities
Knowledge of current provincial health care policies.
Knowledge of utilization management strategies and programs.
