Are you looking for a permanent opportunity where you can show off your accounting and leadership skills? If yes, then Recruitment Partners has the role for you. Our client is searching for a hands-on Controller.

The candidate would be responsible for overseeing financial reporting, accounting, budgets, variance analysis and variety of activities. The Controller will work and report directly to the Managing Partner. If you are looking to be challenged in a fast-paced environment, a leader in their industry, then this is the role for you.

Your Success Will Be Defined By Your Ability To

  • Leading the day to day transactional and financial accounting function
  • Monitor and manage the GL process including new accounts and entries
  • Lead and manage accounting team
  • Ensuring Financial Statements are accurate and complete in accordance with accounting principles and standards
  • Ensure compliance with up-to-date internal accounting and governance regulations, policies and procedures
  • Oversee the preparation of monthly financial reports and other financial statements as required
  • Ensure compliance with all local statutory and regulatory reporting requirements
  • Alignment of business strategies, polices and plans are responsive to the operating environment
  • Collaborate with senior management strategizing, to meet the objectives of the business
  • Analyze and identify trends necessary to make improvements to the business, streamline processes with a continuous improvement strategy
  • Plan, manage tax related requirements
  • Provide financial information including, interpreting implications for the business performance
  • Other duties as assigned.

Your Strengths Include

  • Post-secondary diploma / degree in accounting
  • Accounting designation
  • 5+ years’ experience in full cycle accounting including year end file preparation, budgeting, reporting and forecasting.
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare monthly and year end file in a small – medium sized company.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Intermediate or above proficiency in Excel
  • Quickbooks Desktop experience an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a small team
  • A demonstrated passion for continuous improvement and working with all levels of a company to improve processes and pursue new opportunities.
  • A demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks at once
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Working well under pressure
