Job Title: Director, Supply Chain Development - CANAC

Location: QQT (Toronto, ON, CANADA)

Job Description:

Reporting into the Head of Supply Chain, this position is both an individual contributor as well as a leader of a small team of Supply Chain Development managers. In this role, the individual will be challenged to build Kraft Heinz external and internal supply chain solutions to support the business’ strategic plan. This includes developing solutions for commercial growth, driving margin enhancement as well as delivering against a robust manufacturing transformation agenda. This leader will leverage their experience to coach the team on matters related to internal & external capabilities, capital funding approval processes, commercialization, and operational execution. They will work collaboratively with functional experts (Product R&D, Regulatory, Food Safety, Procurement etc.) to develop new ways of working. They will provide supply chain leadership in all phases of the project, from initial feasibility assessment to start-up support.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead internal feasibility assessments and business case to support the business’ commercialization plans; define network capability (capacity/technology) and capital associated with developing such capability. Identify impact across the supply chain with regard to cost of goods sold e.g. route to market, capacity utilization, manufacturing efficiency, quality, safety.
  • Lead commercialization effort for select projects, platform innovation programs or significant capital related initiatives. Ensure effective team engagement which may include establishing and managing team meetings. Review project timelines and cost regularly with the project team, facilitate creation of mitigation/contingency plans and manage communication.
  • Lead technical and supply chain readiness to support commercialization activity. The individuals will lead using tools that prepare the supply chain and manufacturing facilities for successful start- ups for both growth and cost out initiatives (including manufacturing asset optimization).
  • Partner with External Manufacturing managers and EM procurement to deliver against commercialization activities outside of current Kraft Heinz capabilities as well as drive cost out of the external manufacturing networks.
  • Assess capacity needs for new business initiatives and growth plans across product life cycle. Develop and recommend solutions to provide optimal throughput while maximizing margin. Provide updates to leadership, project sponsors and stakeholders as needed on key initiatives, including progress against deliverables, cost management, next steps and needs from sponsors to alleviate hurdles.
  • Lead internal feasibility with Quality and Research and Development on initial scoping to ensure that the proper procedures and processes are followed and align to before any new business initiatives, growth plans or major capital improvements projects are initiated. Manage and deliver assigned financial targets, to include the delivery of capital projects, trial activity and start-up expenses while leading resource & funding prioritization. Drive development of COGS, ensure alignment between category team and operations. Engage and support productivity agenda to deliver cost reduction targets.
  • Support Business and Manufacturing Systems initiatives as required and support the continuous improvement of the commercialization process through collaboration with key stakeholders and best practice sharing.
  • Lead and/or participation in various stakeholder governance forums (i.e., Stage gate/Leadership teams)
  • Manage and develop with the collaboration of marketing/sales the growth and innovation pipeline requests ensuring that proper financial and capability hurdles are properly met.

Requirements :

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Food Science, Chemistry, or another related field
  • Minimum of 10 years combined experience in manufacturing, business development or HQ business team experience.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Project Management for Consumer Products
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in Basic Marketing/Finance Principles
  • Minimum 3 years of Plant Manufacturing experience
