ASCO Power Technologies, an industry leader in the manufacturing of automatic transfer switches, industrial control products and power control systems, services, and solutions, an exciting career opportunity for a Service Technician reporting to the National Field Service Manager. The candidate may be required to travel several times a year to other parts of Canada to support our PCS customers.
Performs field service work in accordance with service agreements to conduct maintenance, modifications, start-up and validation of Load Transfer Switch and Power Control Systems. - Provides troubleshooting, adjustment and repair services on all Load Transfer Switch and Power Control Systems products in the field.
Prepares service reports which may contain design recommendations that may be forwarded to Product Engineering groups.
Provides follow-up action, as required, with reference to Field Service trips.
Conducts training sessions in the operation, maintenance, theory and design of ASCO equipment, as required.
Performs field modifications to Load Transfer Units and/or Power Control Products or its intended operation.
Responds to customer service and emergency calls
Provides leads to Service Sales Department to maximize opportunities and assist in the extension of additional sales.
Post secondary education in Electrical Engineering, electrical technologist, Journeyman electrician or other related field
Knowledge of 3 phase electrical power 600 volt - Knowledge of Building distribution and generators/breakers
special test equipment, and standard laboratory instruments and meters.
A strong knowledge in PLC, voltage regulators, generator speed controls, synchronizers, paralleling controls and communication is desired and would be an asset.
Operate Company vehicle with supply and equipment - Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as PC skills in Microsoft Windows based software - Troubleshooting or creating Programmable Logic Control programs - Be self-motivated, calm under pressure - Successful candidate will be required to pass a full background check - Strong knowledge in reading electrical schematic drawings and programming PLC's
Travel across Canada and to the US for training.
This position requires individuals to work irregular hours 24 - 7 (weekdays. weekends, evenings, nights, overtime).
Individuals will be required to subject themselves to security clearance screening and drug and alcohol testing at secure/ safety sensitive sites and other required clearances as deemed necessary by our customers.
