The Estimator is a key member of the Bre-Ex Construction Inc. team - providing knowledge and experience in sourcing, bidding, and closing heavy civil and related projects of various sizes in Southern Ontario.
Bre-Ex Construction has grown to specialize in heavy civil construction, site grading, general contracting, utility/electrical services, land development and aggregates.

The ideal candidate will have the desire, work ethic and experience to estimate and provide analysis of high profile infrastructure renewal, water & sewer, road reconstruction, environmental reclamation and land development projects.

In consideration of project complexity, location, size and duration - cost estimation of labour, equipment, materials, subcontractors and transportation/logistics for heavy civil, infrastructure, and electrical construction projects.
Research historic tenders and bid data, provide summaries to the Sr. Support the Project Management team in preparation of contract change orders and other miscellaneous tasks.
Upon successful award, support the Project Management team with selection of sub-trades, ensuring that project safety, quality and profitability targets are maximized.
Research and source price trend information for materials and equipment from suppliers and subcontractors.
Review and analyze subcontractor/supplier bids and negotiate pricing to obtain competitive and cost-effective solutions for projects.
Identification of potential cost uncertainties and provide risk analysis for the Sr. Maintenance and upkeep of construction and cost database – verifying that correct pricing methodology has been utilized.
Participate and lead project development initiatives, analyzing market trends and new project potential.
Assist the development of other team members on contract language and interpretation via training and mentoring throughout the construction process.

Minimum of 3 years of prior Estimating in heavy civil construction experience.
Professional level command of English to create detailed proposals, progress reports and communicate with interested parties internal/external.
Advanced command of Microsoft Office suite.
Adaptable to flexible work schedule when required to meet deadlines.
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as required.
