Occupational Therapist – Full-Time
EFFECTIVE DATE: Immediately
TheOccupational Therapist is responsible for the provision of occupational therapyservices to Home and Community Care Support Services North East patients inorder to maximize the patient’s function, independence, and safety in theirrespective environment.
In-depth knowledge of occupational therapy services and othercommunity resources;
Good understanding of the roles of health care professionals;
Relevant occupational therapy experience in acommunity/health care environment;
Practical knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation(e.g. regarding the provision of health care services, privacy, health andsafety, etc.);
Strong interpersonal andcollaboration skills to work with diverse patient groups, case managers,family members/caregivers/Substitute Decision Makers, health careprofessionals, community organizations and service providers;
Working knowledge of computer software (email, internet) andMicrosoft Office applications (Word, Excel);
Must have valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle;
Advanced oral and written proficiency in English and Frenchis essential.
Terms of Employment: Full-Time
OccupationalTherapists may qualify for a Rehabilitation Professionals Incentive Grant of$5,000 per year for three years which is paid by the Underserviced Area Programof the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care.
